You've done a lot for the site Mindless but I don't agree that;
1) People rating higher than you think is needed is a bad thing.
2) That whether people rate lower or higher in general makes a blind bit of difference to the quality of the site.

1) I'm not saying everyone HAS to use my personal scale. I'm just saying shit bars are shit bars and giving them higher ratings than they deserve IS a bad thing.
2) I think it leads to a general lowering of quality due to people thinking they're better than they are and creates an environment of entitlement to people like MaCc. Why wouldn't he think he's good if people are dropping eights, nines and tens on his battles? You're also going to possibly have new people see someone with a high estimated skill (The stars by their names in the boards and in the links to the battles) rating and then see how shit their verses actually are and maybe get turned off the site because of it. It stands to reason that someone would look at the stars and think "Oh that person must be good" because that's what those things are supposed to be. I'm at 5.76. Just roughly better than "meh. Not bad." and that's about right. Should MaCc really be at almost 6? I mean. REALLY.

I could be wrong on two. Maybe it doesn't matter but fucked if I don't still think it's wrong.

If this is your concern then there is a far bigger issue that would need to be addressed: Ranking. It makes sense that a noob would come to the site and check out whoever is 1# and think they're shit and then draw conclusions. I have no idea how the rank system could be fixed but I think that contributes to how a noob perceives the site far more than the star system.

Easy. Reset everyone's rank and star system and then tie the ranking TO the star system along with some percentage of the W/L ratio after changing the culture surrounding how battles are ranked. Badda bing badda boom badda bang. lol
