lol This was the third or fourth battle I've voted on in, I think as many days. Whether I'm dropping or not is irrelevant to the fact that I'm not rating these shit verses sevens and eights like everyone else wants to do because they're afraid of hurting somebodies feelings or something. B) Not change the outcomes of entire battles with my one vote because my vp was so high. Which I fucking HATED. My opinion isn't anymore valid than anyone else's (Unless otherwise noted. lol) so I didn't like that shit at all.

Now my VP is the same as everyone else's and I don't have to worry about stepping on anybody's toes. I'm ranking shit the way it's supposed to be ranked. I'd hope other people would do the same. It's the same conversation we were having in the chat box. People are dropping way too high of numbers on shit verses that don't deserve them because they're scared they'll get called a hate voter or some shit. That's kind of why I made this thread. I knew it'd "stir discussion" (at least as much as you can around here) and maybe I could convince some other people to look at the ratings system the way I do. Well, I mean that and my desire to troll.

Half the things you enjoy as ancillary features on this site are my creations, brought in after I suggested them or at least had me playing a major hand in their inception. FVC, LB Radio, Buy In Tournaments, getting rid of UserPlane and replacing it with TinyChat (I actually wanted FlashChat so we could have our own separate chat that we could mod to work better to our needs but X said no because of the cost.), adding Live Battles to the boards, giving live battlers their own user group and pushing X for them to get t-shirts to wear at battles to advertise us, the Patriarchs group was my idea as a way to keep @Student out of the staff boards so I didn't have to look at him while still giving him something for his contributions I think (HIYA STUEY!), social groups, the Hall of Fame, etc. etc. Of those nine years I've been here I was a moderator for four and an admin for another four. I may not be the best writer or someone who even wrote/writes often but I know my shit. Besides the tracks I've got on my profile there's probably at least a half a dozen more that've been lost off of other people's pages due to their exclusive lapsing. I've done more for this site in probably just about any two week period you can pull from (Even when I wasn't here) than you'll do for the rest of your tenure on LB. So maybe you should just shut the fuck up. Sit the fuck down and learn something. What I'm telling you is that you're fucking up. I'm also telling you how to fix it. Do so. It's that simple.

You've done a lot for the site Mindless but I don't agree that;
1) People rating higher than you think is needed is a bad thing.
2) That whether people rate lower or higher in general makes a blind bit of difference to the quality of the site.

1) I'm not saying everyone HAS to use my personal scale. I'm just saying shit bars are shit bars and giving them higher ratings than they deserve IS a bad thing.
2) I think it leads to a general lowering of quality due to people thinking they're better than they are and creates an environment of entitlement to people like MaCc. Why wouldn't he think he's good if people are dropping eights, nines and tens on his battles? You're also going to possibly have new people see someone with a high estimated skill (The stars by their names in the boards and in the links to the battles) rating and then see how shit their verses actually are and maybe get turned off the site because of it. It stands to reason that someone would look at the stars and think "Oh that person must be good" because that's what those things are supposed to be. I'm at 5.76. Just roughly better than "meh. Not bad." and that's about right. Should MaCc really be at almost 6? I mean. REALLY.

I could be wrong on two. Maybe it doesn't matter but fucked if I don't still think it's wrong.
