Reciently, I have sorta converted from not believing. Just as I have so much shit in life, that it gives a safety to think something/one is helping you along the way, but unless I was 100% sure, I would never life my life to be religion based, and I don't like my life towards heaven, because if heaven is just a great life, then why can't this be heaven?

Yeah, Jasons right on most of that. Althought I do like having the idea of a god, I still start any prayer with ''if you are real...''. I obviously have much higher doubts than beliefs, and in almost every thread i've ever posted relating to this has had a high content of blasphemy, since I have started this belief, it seems things have been going my way more, most likley 100% coincidence, but I opened my mind to the possibility now. My fully logical side thinks of the bible to be a metaphore for the perfect life according to ancient beliefs, hence stoning gays and burning period encountered chairs, but was taken into a literal meaning.

The main problem I have with trusting my life to it is, believing in god is not having faith IN god, it's having faith in man, as it is man who has seen god, it is man who has encountered god, it is man who wrote the bible, so are you fully happy with entrusting your entire life into the stories of strangers?

Christians do not think the Bible is a metaphor, they take it very literal like all the stories in the bible actually happened.

and yes .. i can gaurentee you that its a 100% coincidence.. that actually leads me into my personal favourite line i hear from people who beleive in God..

"Wow your so lucky, you should really thank God that something like this happened to you"
.. then a week later something really SHITTY happens to you.. and they say..."God will help you get through it"

haha, so .. all the CREDIT goes to God for "giving" you something great.. but when your life turns to shit its not God's fault.. he's just gunna help you get through it like a nice friend

not true some books of the bible like revalation are not meant to be take literal. and parables and Job and even Genisis has a hint of poetry. read the bible and you will see. Just be opend mined this is not a conversion thread just discussion. So please be respectful. Not becuase im Christian but becuase im human.
