Understanding VP (Vote Power) and how it works.
Understanding Voter Power and how it affects battles.
A lot of people seem to still be confused and unsure about how the VP( vote power) system actually works on Letsbeef.com.
You do not win a battle by having the most votes, you win by having the Most VP (Voter Power).
Example:
Battler A has a total of 6 votes and battler B has a total of 3 votes. Battler B wins the battle. How?
This happens because the total combined VP for battler B is higher than the combined VP for battler A. Meaning; even though battler A had more votes, some of the votes he received had either 1VP or 0VP.
How & Why is someone's VP lowered?:
A member will have their VP lowered to 1 or in more serious cases down to 0, for: Troll voting, Hate voting, Spam voting etc.. and they will also receive an infraction for their child-like antics as well to go along with their VP being lowered.
Once they have started voting again, their vote will not carry the same weight as it did before, nor will their VP be reinstated until such time as they have proven to be able to vote fairly and conduct themselves in a more mature manner when it comes to voting.
Their previous trolling/hating on other members' battles affected those battles. As such, these poor voters are punished for their actions.
The knock-on effect of this, sadly, is that now when these 0VP member’s start voting on battles, the members who receive their votes may come under the impression that they are winning their battle by simply receiving another vote. When in reality, they may have received another 0VP vote.
Battle remaining open after deadline:
This happens when a battles VP score is equal. The battle will remain open indefinitely until another vote is placed on the battle, which will then result in that battle closing soon afterwards by making the VP on the battle tilt one way or the other (providing that that voter has VP).
Hope this helps you understand better.

I think it's a good idea to have a VP amnesty every once in a while. As humans, we are evolutionarily wired so that the bad stands out a lot more than the good. When people drop ok or decent votes, it appears "normal", but when they drop shitty votes, it really stands out. Someone can drop 99% ok votes and the 1 shitty vote they drop can get their VP lowered and earn them a reputation as a shitty voter. There should be some system or mechanism to routinely raise the VP of rehabilitated voters. A lot of times when folks get their VP lowered, they're not even informed or made aware of it so they know what they did wrong. How can someone change their ways if they don't know what they did wrong or that they've even been punished? When there are too many folks with 0 or 1 VP, it's bad for the site imo.

But they are made aware of it, as I said. They're infracted as well as VP being lowered.
Also VP doesn't get lowered for one bad vote, its lowered for those who are acting the cunt with their voting.

That's good that they are at least made aware. Do the infractions always carry points, or are they infraction warnings? Seems kind of like double punishment for someone to get their VP lowered AND receive infraction points which may lead to a ban for the same incident of uninformed voting.

I understand your point but they're not uniformed votes. Its people who are actively being a dick when voting: hate voting, which is a deliberate action..spam voting, knowingly doing so for credits... troll voting, knowingly trolling to entertain themselves. These sorts of actions warrant punishment and not to he taken leaniently.
If someone dropped one bad vote, they wouldn't be infracted or have vp lowered for it.
Think your reading this entire thing wrong or with Rose tinted glasses on lol

Both of those people understand bars and are good voters. Neither of them is active enough though, like I said before... there isn't enough active to actually make it work. Those who are active, aren't the ones you want dropping an FVC VP on yourbattle...
Also, while we're talking about a lack of votes, you just had a battle that had 12 votes on it before I even read it.

Rose tinted glasses? I'll let that slide but you might want to think more carefully about who you're insulting

If I were in charge, I would set someone's VP to 1 for a consistent pattern of dropping ignorant but apparently well-intentioned votes, and 0 VP (plus a possible infraction) for a consistent pattern of clearly acting in bad faith (no breakdown, hate voting, etc).

Not insulting you at all, man. You're saying one thing and I'm saying something completely different.
Edit: No idea how you thought "Rose tinted glasses" was an insult, it literally means being Optimistic and seeing things in a good light.
So i said that in relation your first comment, where you're being optimistic about members and their votes.
The idea of this thread was to inform people of how VP works as well as to why they might lose a battle even though they have more votes; outlining the reason for why some people have low to no VP... being that they're going out of their way to vote like a dickhead.
Nothing to do with someone having a bad vote here or there from time to time. Thats a different thing altogether, man.
