Tournament Format/Rules/Scheme Details Explained:



Format
- 31 participants, 1 GC Bye
- 16 Line battles every round
- Tournament will be posted in the Tournament Section (LINK)
- I will assign the rhyme scheme and deadlines at the same time
- Brackets/Deadlines/Schemes will be OPEN on Fridays & CLOSE on Tuesdays
- IF you need help posting an expo, contact staff, PM them your expo, and have staff post it

- Both opponents took creative risks (slants & internals)
- Both opponents posted within the deadline

EXAMPLE VOTING

- This is NOT a standard battle this is a SCHEME BATTLE
- YES, the scheme usage and effectiveness should be top priority
- YES, creative risks are allowed as long as they don't take away from the overall presentation of the rhyme scheme
- YES, factor in effectiveness as you usually would (creativity, punch potency, metaphors, wordplay, etc)
- IF YOU ARE NOT SURE DON'T JUST CHUCK A VOTE, contact myself or Odinn, or a OG in your crew (the other staff is participating, don't bother them)




Official Rules:

- 8 Bar / 16 Line Battles
- All deadlines will be posted in EASTERN STANDARD TIME
- Battles will be posted in the Tournament Section
- Competitors need to adhere to the established date/time deadlines per round
- Host will select the rhyme schemes for both opponents to follow
- Both Opponents MUST Use the same rhyme scheme/pattern for the entire Verse
- Creative risks can be taken, but may work for or against your overall judgement
- Creative risk example 1: Slant Rhymes are allowed, but is a considered a creative Risk
- Creative risk example 2: Internal rhyme patterns are allowed (could be considered a creative risk)

Syllable counts:

Round 1: 2 syllables
Round 2: 3 syllables
Round 3: 4 syllables
Round 4: 5 syllables
Round 5: 6 syllables


Effective Byes:


1. Grand Champions (then current to least recent)[/B] - @Phroxen gets first round bye
