But I remember getting into a stupid back and forth with Nic when I was mod because I mentioned something he did wrong (I think it was regarding how he handled extensions and no shows, I can't remember the exact ins and outs) and he got on the defensive about it, so what you're saying is no surprise to me. Helping out isn't the site about glory hunting and being over bearing. You got to give and take and not take everything negative as personal. I.E your designs not being up to snuff.

I agree. Some really iffy shit gets played on LBR. Even when my own shit got played by Uhmazing when he was hosting I cringed. Not that I don't appreciate the shout out. It's really cool in that respect. But there are so many quality made tracks on here past and present that deserve the recognition more than my shit recorded on a logitec in cool edit. I get personal preference and all from time to time but all in all way too much quality content gets overlooked for 1 reason or another.

I remember now although not in perfect detail as it was so long ago. What I do remember though is you posting on one of the threads saying the way I was handling deadlines was retarded and calling me some name in the process. My response was asking you to discuss it with me in PMs. You continued to say what I was doing was stupid in the open forum.

I didn't want to discuss the way I was running deadlines in the public forum especially with another moderator that was intent on name calling. Name calling is all well and fine, it's all part of the fun in the forums but not when it's two moderators discussing an issue. That was my problem with you. I would of been more than willing to have had a reasonable discussion with you in private about deadlines.

I think it was because you offered NO extension. And I said you should atleast offer some sort of extension, not to eliminate, but to minimize no show. And you were having none of it. You have to show some lee way. Sure people are going to no show regardless but you have to show a little leniency and atleast give people a chance to post.

By doing what you did you cut off your nose to spite your face.

I get it. in principle you should show for set deadlines but for this site and EVERY and I mean EVERY other rap battle/text battle thats just not the case. Thats why we ALL use extensions as a back up.

Name calling is all well and fine, it's all part of the fun in the forums but not when it's two moderators discussing an issue. That was my problem with you. I would of been more than willing to have had a reasonable discussion with you in private about deadlines.

I think it was because you offered NO extension. And I said you should atleast offer some sort of extension, not to eliminate, but to minimize no show. And you were having none of it. You have to show some lee way. Sure people are going to no show regardless but you have to show a little leniency and atleast give people a chance to post.

By doing what you did you cut off your nose to spite your face.

I get it. in principle you should show for set deadlines but for this site and EVERY and I mean EVERY other rap battle/text battle thats just not the case. Thats why we ALL use extensions as a back up.

Found the thread. You're right in that I was being too strict with deadlines although you don't get the context with this thread. I had spoken to Fiji via PM about deadlines over and over again. He still no-showed despite us talking about it extensively. Then he posted the thread crying about it and tagging every moderator and administrator under the sun. I should of let him post after the deadline in hindsight, but I have to stress he knew the deal via PMs.

I was then annoyed because Fiji's crying and bitching had effectively got him the result he wanted and thrown the whole PPV into question. I think staff should discuss staff issues privately, and that was the protocol in every other incident hence my bringing up of your situation with Dave. That's when you began the name calling, I didn't engage with you.

I haven't clicked the link yet to read through but yeah. Now you mention it I remember Fiji being the focal point for why it all came to ahead.

My point was and still is. regardless of Fijis involvement, as a 1 off. (I'm guessing I wasn't INITIALLY being a dick since you didn't bring me to task ) Is that if a mod tells you/informs you of something. You should atleast take it on board and not be so jumpy about it. Co-operation isn't a 1 way street. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and take the hit on the chin (for lack of a better term. Thats just what it seemed like at the time and seems like the case with Noble telling you your designs weren't up to snuff, atleast for what he had in mind)

I feel like you're zoning in on a minor point though with the designs. I posted a long post when we started this conversation outlining dozens of reasons. As I said in an earlier post for all I cared NOBLE could have designed the awards himself. I suggested that the awards system be taken advantage of more and that awards were proactively given out. NOBLE insisted that the awards system as it is now was working fine but said he wouldn't be opposed to adding in some more awards for meeting a certain number of posts '1000 posts' etc. Which I think actually got implemented in the end but my initial plans were far more extensive than that.

At a time when people wanted to decrease the amount of user titles, awards could of been used as an alternative and been made to have been seen as valuable to users. Instead we got what we have now, a few discrete awards that people still don't care about. This comes back to my question to NOBLE which was what has he done as an administrator since my absence. My ideas weren't seen as worthy so what was the alternative? What have we been given in their place....

It's easy to make these accusations and paint this picture of me being an obstructionist, but I want people to be able to look at it concretely and come to their own conclusions. In my view, I implemented the gist of everything you wanted. You might have wanted 20 voting award categories whereas I narrowed it down to 10...I STILL implemented voting awards. You might have wanted to be involved in the staff conversation by having access to the thread whereas I involved you by updating you on the convo via IM and representing your view within the thread. Everything you asked for, I gave it to you in some way shape or form even though it might not have been the exact way you wanted it. You INSISTED on designing the icons yourself. I was the one who suggested you adding some Exclusive awards in the first place then I gave you that icons site to choose from off bat. I even gave and showed you how you can access the modcp and give out awards. Let's keep in mind that I wasn't the one who made you an Exclusive mod in the first place and you attained that post in my absence, yet you hadn't been shown all this.
