Are you guys serious? drake is better then Tech? 0__0 why do you guys think drake is better then Tech, just curious? Iv only ever heard a few drake songs... but i use to like Tech alot.
Immortal Technique, R.A The Rugged Man, Vinnie paz, Jedi Mind Tricks, Necro, Mobb Deep, Tupac, K-rino, Wu-tang.
Those are the rappers that got me into rap at the start pritty much most of them being that underground east coast type rapper.

me>Drake .
The thing is tho, i'm in the middle lane with this being that i was born in 91'. You have to understand both cultures, and what each represents. When you do that, you have a greater appreciation of both sides of music.
For instance, Playboi carti .... "In New York I milli rock, running from these OPS". Might sound like a mediocre af line, but when you have lived that life, and understand that there are mad OPs in the dope game, and rap game, you can relate to this line.
Art is subjective. Drake lyrically is talented af, so is immortal better lyrically/technically, but you also have to understand the talent it takes to make a catchy song, and deliver good lyrics. Theres a reason why the kids these days dont listen to Immortal, its because he isnt vibrating on the same frequency, and the new generation doesnt relate.
There is a middle ground you have to understand.

Ok so yea it's the catchy thing again, we talked about this in another thread, i guess thats what hip hop is mainly about these days on the radio.. i don't mind that stuff to but i still like the old school underground style aswell, both have good an shit songs in each one.
I think there is a line between the two...a middle path you can have both i don't think its to hard to sound catchy or to be lyrically dope with the flows. Just godda take the time with it.

If you really think that immortal technique is a better overall artist than drake chances are you also have Jedi Mind Tricks coasters and a K-Rhino onesie. Take the ego out of the argument, drake has an objectively more defined, polished, just better sound as an artist. Tech has more unique things to say and an arguably better writing structure. Neither are bulletproof artists, drake changes culture every two months and Immortal technique is a glorified conspiracy theorist.
A main point of drakes lane is to tap into a vibe and make playful energy in a track, utilizing skin-deep content as to not seem tryhard and backpacker while also coming off as soft or whack to a good amount of people because of the lighter moods.
the whole point of techs lane in hiphop is to circlejerk about his own knowledge and wisdom in some pseudo-"woke" state where you write bars about government corruption and dancing with the devil until you develop a cult following.
Yall trying to figure out whos better im trying to figure out why you give a fuck about either one of these people.
