if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, did it make a sound?
biting incidents in my eyes are innocent until proven 100% guilty...in this line of work, concepts are bound to be reused again and again and again...the build ups and the wording are what seperates a biter from a non-biter...doesnt matter if ive never heard of cassidy - the guy next to me might have and he'll call the person on it...to think that you can pin-point every case of biting right when you see it is ridiculous
im not saying were amazing, im saying he had a head start...we know what to look for/listen for...we know what goes into a quality concept, how its formulated, ect...we know how to develope setups and punchlines...we know the significance of syllable counting and matching...does the average fan of music, i doubt it
you can argue that music is a science - but to the average listener, its nothing more than something to help pass the time, relate to, and hopefully enjoy

If you arent on LB, the concept isnt played as you guys say, but by your logic, what if the guy next to you is?
We are amazing. Maybe not compaired to like GT guys and everything, but if you take a rap fan who doesent really rap, and put him next to us, we will look brilliant. I once spit steaming about some shitty freestyle stuff, and was compaired to Eminem and was told I was amazing, and it was shite.

Being a rapper
I would never EVER! EV-ERRRRRR!! Say something like "I open chests like a Pirate"
And if I heard it, I'd cringe
But saying that
I could see how "Mr John Doe lets play this track to pass the time during this tedeous traffic jam" wouldn't see it as played and probably wouldnt even hear the line anyway, due to him being too busy vibing to the beat
But there are also alot of rap fans out there who don't even rap who know when something just sounds straight up cheesy. they arent stupid.

i agree - and those are the same ppl who complain about the mainstream music...on the flipside, like you said, mainstream music fans may only be vibing to the beat
but, i think it takes more to formulate a basic, original concept then to be able to spot a cheesy, played one
