As a whole the event was impressive. Fucked KOTD up? $30 for PPV, 36,000 ish people watched it in the PPV channel, you do the math.
There were far more impressive spectacles on show though. Bender was insane, Pass vs K Shine was crack, DNA vs Eurgh was nuts, Dollaz vs Daylyt. The biggest downer (aside from the notepad) was the fact that it completely killed the crowd for Arsonal vs Illmac afterwards. Everything before it was dope though, and I don't mind having paid the money for the displays of talent I did get to witness.

One battle does not mak an entire event a lame duck. @ RULE. Every other battle on the card, in my opinion, was top notch. And competitive on both ends.

Yea, they made at least a mil from that one event. I don't think it would deter other famous rappers from venturing onto the battle scene though. I think the battle scene might just end up being a sort of "Dancing With The Stars" for rappers....where they come to try and regain some sort of relevance when their career is practically dead. If anything, I'm seeing more and more famous rappers show up to these battle events and judge them.

Yeah but when your highly hyped main event is a flop it might turn away future viewers. Im sure they did good numbers but long term this could hurt them. Especially when setting up future "mainstream" battlers.

Then he got on some lame bitter twisted shit and started dissing any Tom dick or Harry who was getting a little bit of shine. TO GAIN ATTENTION.
The guys corny. He even dissed Premier on some school girl shit. And recently dropped a track on J Cole. I can't respect that. May e he should start respecting the fans and the genre instead of disrespecting the very same audience by going after it's pioneers on some childish bullshit. The guy is a washed up lame with no respect for anyone but himself. Fuck Canibus. Respect isn't a given. It's earned. And respect can just as quickly be removed by pulling the countless bitch moves he's pulled over the last decade.
And Diz would not look bad next to Can in a studio. Hahahaha. Diz would more than likely do what Can does topically only 10 times better.
It's far harder to do what Diz does on the live circuit than it is to do what Can does in the studio.

A few things:
First off, Canibus got invited to this event because he is a great freestyler and a great battle rapper.
Secondly, Canibus is a smart guy who absolutely should not have a problem remembering a verse. Remember, he worked as an analyst for the DOJ without a college degree. That's the type of job that guys with high-end private school math degrees are usually fighting for.
This leads me to the conclusion that...
Canibus didn't give a damn, he was just there for a paycheck. That's the only explanation I have. Maybe he thought he could win easy because of his status. Who the fuck knows, all I know is that he bombed hard.
