It's sad that he died. He was definatly a pioneer who played his part, but he is not a legend.. lmao.

To be a Legend in any field you have to have REACHED THE VERY PEAK of that field as well as continue that success over a long/sustained period of time. Like a Dr Dre. who's been around since the 80's and has constantly banged out hits up untill 2011.

Just like Jay Z from the mid 90's up untill now and is still going strong. Heavy D never did that lmaooo.

oh na I was just simply asking u, not challenging your claim that's why I make the PowerPoint remark...but if u do wanna debate the issue then I guess we can since there any other good threads out...ok now the whole opening with legend in Webster terms followed by 50 other dead ppl was a nice way xto present ya claim...so clap clap to u...BUT it doesn't take multiple hits longevity or perrenial success to become a legend it can also take a singular event or song since we are talking about music...heavy wasn't just a pioneer he was also one of the first and at the best at crossovering rap with reggae n r&b in a industry that was dominated by thuggish portrayal making a move like that set the precedence for the r&b-rapper collabs or rapper-rocknroll collabs we see today... expanding the range of the genre in that way is LEGENDARY...possessing the swagger to make being a large unattractive MC cool n acceptable in a industry dominated by pretty boys n gangstas which paved the way for others to for the same and with confidence is LEGENDARY....lending vocals to attract viewers to a at-the-time new show presenting a new form of black comedy which without heavy's voice n support at a time where he was very influentual could've meant the show could've been unsuccessful is LEGENDARY...especially since that show contributed to the success of many a-list actors....throw a heavy d jawn on in front of ya momdukes that smile that pops up from remembering thar shit being played in the club where she has endless memories with friends n guys she dated...that moment making her feel young again is LEGENDARY...but hey u right based on ya criteria of legend I'm right based on mine....I honestly don't see myself arguing over this much longer so if u wanna peace it up n go grab some tea I'm all for it....
