@pULSe..

Without opinions, the world would be oh so boring. I can respect yours; Because although BIG is seen as legendary... What impact did he have on people besides giving them dreams to have what he had? ... Money, Cars and bitches. Tupac on the other hand is LEGENDARY, he told stories that people could relate to (like Eminem).

@King John..

Damn, your so ignorant. NaS > Jay Z

Jay Z is what Nas wished he could be, there's a reason Jay Z is one of the most influential, recognizable, and respected rappers of all time, he's the most versatile rapper ever and his music actually sells.

NaS is what Jay has ALWAYS wanted to be...he's a legit intellectual trapped in a commercial rapper's steez...he sold his soul on Vol 1. and never looked back until maybe American Gangsta which was really lyrically textured

More like Nas wanted to be a commercially successful rapper like Jay Z, but nobody bought his albums even when he tried to put out radio friendly songs. "Oochie Wally," was his top charting track and it was garbage, he even makes controversial album names in an attempt to create some buzz with "Hip Hop is Dead," and his "Untitled," album was gonna be called Nigger. Nas is nowhere near as versatile as Jay Z, Jay can spit lyrical shit with the best of them when he needs to, but he can make a hit and sell a million units too.

tbh, Jay-Z wants to be Nas. No, he doesn't wanna trade lives or his financial situation, I'm sure Jay-Z feels like he's way better off than Nas.

But Nas is respected by everyone. The underground heads, new guys, and veterans will mention Nas before they even think about mentioning Jay-Z.

Nas is living comfortably. He's one of those rappers that's mainstream and making over $200,000/month..yeah, a month. I'm sure if he does something wrong, it wont catch as much media attention as Jay-Z...I bet he walks out of his house & into the club... and only faces 10 paparazzi, versus the 50 paparazzi Jay-Z faces.

That's the lifestyle I wish I had. I'd rather live hella comfortable, with alot of money, and not too much fame. & The respect of everyone to ever pick up that mic, and the respect I have for myself knowing I can put out the music I WANT, with the messages I WANT

& Not these jingles that society craves..that has Jay-Z dancing like a slave to consistently make the MILLIONS of dollars he makes every year.

when did album sales become a sign of versatility?

i mean i know you like Scarface, right? Solja Boy will prolly sell more albums than him...so leave sales out of it.

If I Ruled the World is much more commercially viable than Oochie Wally, as is One Mic. Both of which did NOT sell out artistically...and Oochie Wally was on a QB compilation album...not a NaS album

tbh, Jay-Z wants to be Nas.

The large majority of any hip hop lists always puts Jay-Z above Nas, and every new rapper coming out says Jay-Z is the rapper they modeled there game after, not to mention Nas would be irrelevant if it wasn't for his beef with Jay-Z.

Well done pULSe, you just brought the debate to a stop IMO.

If I Ruled the World is much more commercially viable than Oochie Wally, as is One Mic. Both of which did NOT sell out artistically...and Oochie Wally was on a QB compilation album...not a NaS album
Being able to make to make a hit is a pretty big sign of being versatile, that's why Scarface and Soulja Boy aren't on anybody's best ever list, because they can't be commercially successful and still put out lyrical shit. Same with Nas sure he can put out some bullshit "lyrical," track but he can't make a hit to save his life.
