I fucked up i had a bunch of shit wrote out , and i was trying to end my last sentence with a question mark but all i get are these ÉÉÉÉÉ ... So i hit refresh tryina figure out how to fix it and lost everything. Had Some good points made too
But i was thinking , what if we did like UFC a little
Like we have leagues like datpiff had , but we have ... Beginners, Novices, Intermediate, Professional, & Champions ... And every new account starts off at beginner until the mods feel their ready to move up. (Maybe be made to battle someone in the higher league & have to win to get into it) Til then u can only battle people in your league.. & Maybe have your VP be based off that a little too. Beginners have 1 Vp... Professionals got 4Vp .. Champs get 5 ... That sorta thing. Since theyre obviously more skilled, theyd know a little more than a Novice. Maybe make it a title too .. like youll have the word Professional under your name ... kind of a respect thing. Plus its kinda like climbing up the ladder , Kinda fun starting at level 1 Eh
Have a ranking system since there aint an abundance of members anymore. And like , top 3-5 ranked get to challenge the champions. Topical, Grand Champ, 1 Bar ... Whatever. I dont see a point in There being beginner or novice titles aye ... Kinda redundant. Maybe sometimes still host Tournaments , as like a wildcard spot sorta thing So Everyone Gets a Chance.. & So we dont lose that cuz its still interesting to do
But like, #1 Every month gets first pick at what champ he wants ... & 2nd gets whatevers leftover, & So on. Maybe
Definately makes shit more interesting ... + its weird to have 20 grand champions walking around. Its almost weirder not to be a grand champ at this point
Fuckin pissed i lost that post tho i dont even wanna re-write it right now , its funner when shit just comes out naturally ... Maybe later
ThoughtsÉ .... Still cant make question marks
---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:43 PM ----------
It was more of a solution to #3 but it touched on #2 a little too ... + Theres no End-Goal to LB. Whatre we doing this for aye ... Make it a Game. It dont gotta be what i said, but do something .... Fuck when i work, i turn shit into a game ... Like lets mop this floor Ill make it fun bud

I think the permanency of tournament titles is one of the biggest allures they have, and what draws 30 odd people to a tournament and makes it an event.
However, the idea of leagues etc is a good one imo; beyond the scope of what I can do in the short term but maybe going forward we can work towards it?
The ranking system was overhauled to become ELO tho so a lot of the issues have already been addressed

I agree a separate league should be added. As for that, I think the best idea is to have 3 tiers. Tier 1 being the rappers who have proven themselves immsensely and either have titles or are just general heavyweights. 2nd tier being rappers that have proven themselves but still have a way to go to become tournament finalists/semi-finalists.
Tier 3 would be newcomers, and general rookies.
How would you move up? Simply be the top rapper in your current tier, then challenge the bottom rapper in the above tier. Rapper that loses stays (If in worse tier) or moves down (if in better tier) and vice versa for rapper who wins.
Only problem anyone could point out with this system would be only two people going up / moving down between two tiers, not allowing other battlers to move up or go down, and therefore battling each other constantly. Simple solution. When a person moves up a tier they become 2nd last on the list, knocking the previous 2nd last down to last place. Same thing with the 1st, if he loses to the last in the other division he moves down 3 spots.
Think of it like UFC Top 15 / Top Contender.
MMA places perfected this system, and also perfected the next system i'll talk about.
Cards. Every important month (March/Easter, June Summer, October/Halloween, December/End of Year) put a main card. Have people on the site vote for which battles they want on the card. If everyone agrees to it the card goes. Have them rank their choices too, so that you can create a main event (dual main event), main card and undercard.
Also include some "mixweight" battles, think 1 of each of these: Tier 1 top battler vs Tier 3 Top Battler, Concept battle, Tag Team Battle, Topical Battle, Card Cypher (Solo or group drop).
Just an idea and it would take effort both on the community and the staff, but I believe this is something to work towards.
Having a free-structured site like we currently do just doesn't work, it should be structured and orderly. Still can keep this section for practice battles, but for an actual organized battle rap site, we should've had this from the start.
Another problem with the lack of engagement is the fact there is literally not any advertising for the site. I understand there's literally no funding either, but if active champions donate to the site and other battlers as well, we can get some people on here.
As much as we hate to have it, more ads is the only other way we can get revenue without donations

The PPV Cards idea has been implemented with the LBA, LBT and THC competitions. All of them are effectively dead in the water at the moment because nobody shows up to compete. The unstructured nature of the basic arena serves to give people the freedom to battle on the few occasions they actually give a shit, although I think it would be a good idea to set up some kind of league for the rookies and newer guys.

Thats cause ultimately, y'all aint doing enough to stop people from no-showing, and or not giving them motivation to battle.
Why battle on here? Most people that are battling on here are here for two reasons only, to try and become good, or to battle because they love battling.
Only one of those two is sustainable, and that is the latter.
When something is your hobby and you become decently good at it, it becomes fun to try and test your skill against people of high caliber and be in competition for titles. You have nothing but your prestige to lose. But you don't care about prestige because you value the art form and want it to grow. The art form itself is encouraging you, as well as everyone complimenting your skill level and shit.
But when you're starting out, literally only you are motivating yourself, the thought of becoming top-tier, the dream of becoming top-tier. But when there's nothing else, it feels like there's no reason to continue battling.
It's actually the reason for both of my hiatus's. I didn't feel like there was any reason to continue.
Of course you could make the argument "If you truly wanted to become the best you would try no matter what" or "You should have to earn shit" but there is limited to no reason as to how to improve. Skizzo's Rap Bible needs more shit and updating, and is hard af to find, people dont respond when you ask them for help, and most "elevation crews" run by certain people are basically just people with a powertrip that want to be "at the top" of something. Now if these crews actually had people that would actively help you, they wouldn't be that bad, and if they were run by champions, it would be even better.
Problem is, and let's face it, Letsbeef only caters to people who know what they're doing. Most voters just say "This was shit, this was shit. Bye", and that shit does nothing. You need to DM people and tell them, "Yo, your shit might not be the best now, but do this and try this instead, and that might help make a stronger bar.".
Not tryna say rookies or champions are more important, but its a matter of fact that without either of them the site would eventually fall.
Thats why you need to help people.
Also you is not referring to Kiwi, it refers to everyone reading this thread..
