I don't doubt any extended deadlines for a site upgrade. My company was working on one through a third party developer and it took them +4 years longer than they expected.

@500 other people, why did yall stop battling and part ways with the site?

People will naturally develop other hobbies or more important uses for their time. People also grow out of their battle phases. Battle rap itself has become less popular with new generations. This is something that has to adapt to keep old crowds and attract new crowds and maintain them.
