I think almost all of these cards lack showcase and matchmaking. It was short lived, but my TRBz thing had a lot of people excited because it wasn't JUST a "league" or whatever.
Because DeNiro won't be around long, there's no point in building a shot. Give him the immediate title shot. Either the narrative of returning hall of famer getting the belt is built, or you give your first champ big name win and a fresh opponent.
In this stuff, matchmaking needs to be engaging. People need to be excited, and battling someone they've faced 20times isn't interesting.
Build rookies and prospects from the bottom against on another. When their record is good, use them to pad a more experienced guy's record and to build them to a title shot. Either use "legends" as automatic title shots, or one off attraction pieces ("freakshow fights") to bring more attention to the cards.

Its the booker in you.
If it wasnt for Rican i would probably of given Milk an automatic title shot.
Im still undecided on the title match, But i'll make the card soon so people can prep before the GC kicks in.
