Should non-staff members be able to have 3+ VP?

There should be non-staff members with elevated vp because, obviously, it's not only staff members that are very good voters. However, there has to be a systematic way of deciding who gets elevated vp (Like an FVC or some other process) otherwise it becomes arbitrary, based on some particular mod's whim. One mod might think a certain member deserves elevated vp and raises it whereas another mod does not think that member can vote and lowers it. We've had issues like that before. There were still mods who thought certain people didn't belong in the FVC but having an FVC recruitment process made it less arbitrary so their vp was respected and left untouched as long as they were in FVC.

I agree with the OP that exceptional voters should be granted 3 VP - Shodan, Babylon, Rai, Esso would be a few good examples. I see NOBLE's point too but I haven't seen any conflict like that in recent times over VP so I don't really foresee this being an issue.

I'm cosigning this. The point system r n is garbage. I'm sure a lot of battles have gone the wrong because of it. The site doesn't have enough activity to warrant more than 2vp anyways. I think a vp change should take at least 2 mods to do. If it's not the case already. Cuz vp changes could easily sway battles. Edit* I wouldn't be opposed to a 0, 1, 2 vp scale. But anything more than 2vp makes one vote to important cuz of the low activity.

If the only possible VPs are 2 and 0, that's functionally identical to the only possible VPs being 1 and 0.

Right. I just don’t see why someone’s vote would count more than someone else’s. 2 fair voters club member votes verses 2 non fair voters club votes and a person still lose by double the amount of points. It makes nooo sense at all.

yeah, this shouldnt even be a debate everyone should be at an equal playing field in VP. If voting had anything to do with being a moderator a few dudes around here wouldve had green coats a lot sooner.

This vp system ran most efficiently when there were more people on site. Now a single mod vote can sway the outcome of a battle, its happened to me hella times from regular bouts to tournaments & im certain yall have had it happen as well. A better question and topic of debate however would be Xs breezy transition into the same ole "completely ghost under the promise of a new version/site" spiel.

I wonder how long it'll take us to realize this & go back to being collectively angsty at the owners again?

Its Not a Conflict ONLY Because People Are Scared Shitless to Stand Up to LB authority because of the Political prowess and Power that Those In Power Flex With. As Has been Stated in Previous Post NOBODY'S VOTE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANOTHER PERSONS. The only People who should have VP above 2 is the Admins.
