marvel's rights were sold awhile back, and this lets The avengers allow spiderman into the movie since they joined up a contract

I'm surprised that Sony compromised on the rights to Spiderman. Spiderman is currently one of Sony's biggest assets, with the booming of super hero films.

They're doing fuck all with him in sales relative to what Disney's Marvel films are doing though. Not to mention they're almost universally panned by critics. I mean, I liked the two with Garfield as Spiderman but hey, who knows how much better it'll be with Marvel Studios back at the helm.

The Amazing Spiderman films are far superior than the original trilogy. But, yes, with the creative license allotted to Marvel, this has the capacity to become a much more storied series for Sony, making it all the more profitable for them. Marvel has done a fantastic job creating, and maintaining an elaborate cinematic universe for themselves.
