You can't agree w/ me that AZ is Top 5
But you have to agree with me that Nas is the greatest to ever do it

You're buggin if you think Nas is overrated
because on almost any list, from any website, or any TV channel
they put Jay-Z, Pac, & Big ahead of him.
Jay-Z & BIG definitely dont got it over Nas.

i would say jay-z is better then nas.
everybody that says nas is the greatest is an idiot and dosent know music at all!
i still havent heard one good explanation as to why he is consider even in the top 5
he has an OKAY FLOW and GOOD LYRICS people argue his story telling ability. okay he's probably top 10 in that. top 20 in technical LYRICS and i'd say top 50 in flow.
one album that was ahead of his time and had great production does not = the greatest rapper of all time

You're buggin. Nas is consistent AND he's signed to a major. But from the music he puts out, you would swear he's indie because he has a lot of freedom over his projects.
Rewind was a story Nas told BACKWARDS. Even the dialogue is backwards.
"My first album had no famous guest appearances. The outcome - I'm crowned the best lyricist" - Nas.
That line should speak for itself...
Pronto, you, like a lot of young people...think rap is all about swag and punchlines or some corny shit similar to that.
Let me remind you that RAP is Rhythm & Poetry...and not many successfully complete the task of rapping better than Nas.
It's time you stop lookin for punchlines & catchy beats and look into the lyrics.

Biggie was a little above average. Nothing too special.
His freestyling ability was up there though. That's all he had tbh
If you wanna argue that anybody is overrated in this conversation..its BIGGIE. He's not even Top 5

his story was he woke up got in a van smoked a blunt and shot a nigga
c'mon son
lupe fiasco has way better song concepts.

Lupe Fiasco also dropped a mainstream shithole of an album called LASERS that had 2-3 songs for his core fanbase and everything else was commercial. fuck outta here
Nas's most mainstream shit was Oochie Wally. Nas keeps it real. He made songs to uplift the people, he made political songs that spoke out (way before Lupe was even known), Nas made songs that were giant metaphors before Lupe too
You argue anybody coulda done this, anybody coulda done that. but Nas did it before them. & He did a great job at it
If Heaven Was A Mile Away
Dance (Dedicated to his mom)
Rule (Speaking about the country politically)
Reason (3 different stories where he's askin what the reason is behind the grimey shit people do)
I could go on and on forever. Nas is the original great lyricist
