I've seen it for a while..like past GC tournies and such..so this aint about nobody in particular, rather just shit as a whole...but why y'all allow the verse to be posted in text format in the comments? All the caps and quotes to make things easy to follow. Aint it supposed to mimic a live battle? You dont get a program with the lyrics when you attend a live event. Its a rappers job to verbally make sure the listener gets it.

True, but in real events the battler can use body language to animate/emphasize specific parts of their verses too. I can see both the pros/cons to this though.

its the rappers job to make the stuff stand out, in text battles yes you can do that but in a audio or a live battle the mc can also do that buy his overall delivery an how he says certain words.. if you just gonna rap your verse out all quick an shit like one big continues paragraph people wont get it as much... unless they listen a few times some might tho.

Audios simply /aren't/ a live battle, no matter how hard yall try to "emulate" it on a single web-page it'll never even get close to /actually/ emulating it, so saying live battlers dont get comments to post their shit on is literally an irrelevant factor because of course they dont, its a live battle. its a different format- and most importantly because posting 1-2 minutes of content to follow along because all you have is that audio, is a lot different than trying to get people reading along to three 2 minute rounds of material that they ALREADY have the video for lmao.

I used to not post lyrics but I found people not catching bars because of it. There's only so much you can do to make people catch bars with strictly audio. Some people need those cheat sheets to catch bars and therefor vote properly

In live battles the rappers are constantly using body language to supplement their words. They use deconstructed wordplay and use their hands to demonstrate that they are putting 2 things together. Audio doesn't have that luxury. I agree with Babylon. I don't see a problem with posting your verse in the comments.

I've done it not because I thought people wouldn't catch the complexity but because my Mic sucks and often makes me sound muffled so I use the Text comment to post the verse and ensure they know exactly what I said. Then I think, while I'm at it, might as well add the quotation marks and sprinkles.
