punchlines vs multis

So I've completed a few battles now still new to it all but one thing I've noticed is im losing a heck of a lot of battles to rubbish verses that contain loads of multis about absolutely nothing that makes any sense whatsoever.

By my own admission im quite proud of my punchlines. I think they are pretty funny and usually always insult the opponent.

BUT im getting beaten by multis that make no sense whatsoever.

Is it just me that thinks this or do the voters just look at verses without actually reading them?

punchlines win battles, not multis (unless you're Rican). granted, i'm no aficionado on punchlines, but if you're gonna paint a masterpiece, multis are the canvas, punchlines are the type of brush you use. the composition will make or break a painting.

You should work on actually finding out how to make a solid punch . I believe there is a thread @Dono made ( If you can Dono post ya thread here so He can read it and elevate) , Hope nothing I said was taken out of context just tryna help you get better .

I agree with @Dissizit... Punchlines are important, they bring the ohhhh's & ahhhh's. But you need to set them up with good Multi-rhyme schemes. It's about creativity & complexity. Me & Diss just had a battle, both came with hard punch lines but his Multi's were more complex. I got lazy towards the end going for comedic bars & it may end up costing me the win. We'll see how things shake out in a day or two...

To be honest it I had the equipment my strenghths would be in audio as I can come up with rhymes off the top of my head. I lack the patience for writing I think.

I don't know what it is about this place but it's as if every new sign up just got done listening to SSLP or watching 8 mile for the first time. this site seems lost in a time warp sometimes. it's very odd to witness.
