Yeah it'll be the same as in Ireland then. They hate her based on the idea of hating her alone.
I think a lot of people in Scotland know about her. Politics was quite big in the 80s I think. My mum and dad have nothing but good things to say about her, being barley even working class at the time, so I guess it all comes down to what people personally seen.
My cousin, at the same time, put "Ding ding the witch is dead" on Facebook, so really, the opinions are scattered

Yeah it was Bobby Sands and them. I understand that was their choice, but she could've prevented it becoming fatal. It wasn't completely her fault, but she had a hand in it.
My biggest issues are with her killing of industry more than anything, from miners to steel to print to jute and shipbuilding and manufacturing and beyond. Virtually all out with England - and many therein - were left to fend for themselves once she'd closed down these industries and distanced herself from working class families who were left jobless and penniless. In terms of the nanny state and high unemployment, she had a lot to answer for.
Did you know it was revealed in the hillsborough report that she actually planned to let Liverpool rot? Propositions were made to leave Liverpool amid toxteth riots etc and watch them wither.
To me a great leader cares about every part of their nation, regardless of class, background or locality.

I agree though @IV; a lot of people don't know why they dislike her so vehemently. Personally I'm from an area that she pillaged and have studied political history - in depth - back as far as 1800, so I'm perhaps one of the few who has an opinion with any depth or complexity of thought to it. If you get a chance check out George Galloway's blog on the matter; it's heavy, but it's the opinion of a man who witnessed it all first hand from the benches of Westminster.

Lets not forget also that she was responsible for deregulating the banks.

George Galloway is a shock jock ( no pun intended ) lets not get it twisted now. The guy went on Big Brother and pretended to drink milk out of some birds hands while purring in a red leotard on national television. guys a clown who will do and say anything to be known.

Yeah I've read George Galloways post on it @ Askari was interesting. I've also heard him go HAM at somebody on a radio show for defending her lmao.
Yeah I've just had to do an economics / law report on the deregulation of banks, and as much as it seems retarded now I've been forced to understand that there wasn't actually much choice and and it would have been the best idea back then, but that's only because I've literally JUST done it haha.
I suppose I don't know how badly Scotland was affected so wouldn't understand it to the depth that you do, Scotlands always been a bit neglected with your own decorated bank notes and powerful hate for the English

Excuse me, I think you'll find that's legal tender!
This isn't much different from the Jimmy Saville incident. Now that Margret Thatcher's dead, people have started to come out and say they were abused as miners.
