If you believe in religion, you go to hell no matter what if you commit suicide.

Without repentance, murder sends you straight to hell. Suicide is still murder, but there is no possibility of repentance.

Is that your reason for saying you wouldn't attend the funeral if a family member commits suicide? Is it based on religious reasons?

That's true and that's how I ended up seeing it. I was just interested in hearing some of the ways people here might have thought of offing themselves.

That's not the reason. To me, the worst thing anyone can ever do in life is end it. So many people don't even get the opportunity to live, and to waste your one shot at life, it's unforgivable. If you have a family, it's the most selfish thing you can ever do.

My philosophy is that heaven doesn't exist. Whether or not the bible and religion is real, THIS is heaven. You've got one shot at it. Get busy living, or get busy dying.

I have, and tried. Depression runs in heavy on both sides of my family, I have had cousins hospitalized from wanting to kill themselves. I've lost a few friends to suicide and all that on top of constant pressures plus natural depression, one day I said fuck it. Tried by cutting down my right arm, woke up in the hospital. Still wear the scars till this day. But in a way I'm proud to wear it, not because I'm proud of saying "Ayo, I just cut my arm open down the middle", but because I was able to find a source to rise above it. 2 years have gone by and the thought pops in every now and again but I've found the mental strength to push it away and out of my system.

TL DR = I tried to kill myself, failed due to being found bleeding out, and now I grew from my adversities.

No. Whenever I get depressed, I use other methods to pull myself out. Music, writing, jogging. I refuse to use the medication because I don't want to get hooked if you will. I want to be able to function without it. If I take it for so a while, and I don't anymore and I get depressed, I'm afraid I'll sink deeper. When I do sink, I just take steps mentally.
