I had the votes typed...then I didn't drop em when I saw round 2 was up so I thought round 1 was over. You know, usually round 2 starts when round 1 ends lol, will drop em now.

@ TalkSick @ Path, the mods who haven't voted for round 1 will still get to it when they get a chance. Don't worry. EVERY battle will get 3 votes one way or another. @ AfterThought, this is not an elimination tourney where the subsequent rounds depends on the previous rounds' results, so there is no problem with starting ROUND 2 if all the judges votes from ROUND 1 hasn't been tallied. What matters is the final tally of all votes after all 3. I'm assuming you've been busy but I'm sure you will get to it when you have time. I was just reminding you that they still need your votes even though ROUND 2 is open.

@ ILLoKWENT™ vs @ Path
http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_detai...n=tb&id=442864
ILLoKWENT™ Voted: Haphazard: 4 / jiegee: 3
Path Voted: Haphazard: 5 / jiegee: 6
To start off, I read the battle and I didn't think Haphazard won, so I think ILLoKWENT chose the wrong winner. From your expo, your reason seem to be based primarily on structure. You felt Haphazard came with better structure and advised jiegee to make his structure more like Hap's. To me, their structure was pretty much the same...the only difference was Haphazard typed his line by line, whereas jiegee had his lines running into each other with no clear way of distinguishing when a line begins or ends other than the flow. Neither one capitalized their multies or use demarcation slashes (/). In the battle itself, I felt jiegee was a bit more aggressive and that is where Path got it correct. They both were basic and I feel ILLoKWENT's rating was more accurate ( I would have given it a 3-3). Path, your rating was a bit high imo, but due to the fact that you chose the right winner and I didn't fully agree with ILLoKWENT's expo about the structure, Path gets my vote.

@ TalkSick vs @ vvvv
vvvv Voted: misscigar: 5 / Revan: 7
TalkSick Voted: misscigar: 2 / Revan: 5
I think both gave good expos in this one with the exception on a couple pointers. I didn't agree with vvvv's bit about the use of slashes taking up space or Revan's verse being over-decorated. I also think he rated both emcees a bit high for that particular battle. I've seen Revan go much harder than that, but I probably would have rated that battle 4-6 in Revan's favor. TalkSick's rating was more accurate, but 2 was a bit low for misscigar imo. I would have given him a 3 minimum. TalkSick gave a good expo, but I think some of what you were saying might have gone over misscigar's head judging from where he seems to be at skillwise. I think what he needed most is to know how to improve, and if you had given some examples, it would have benefited him more. Instead you pointed him to some battlers to read to improve certain aspects, but I think he would need to get a handle on some basic things first before he can even look at those battler's verses and know what to look for. He'd have to get a clear understanding of what wordplay is supposed to be first before he can read a NawkOut verse and understand what makes him so good at it and begin to emulate properly. But everything you said was on point. Like I said, you both gave adequate expos, but I'm giving my vote to TalkSick.

@ Erupt vs @ Unyqe
http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_detai...n=tb&id=442891
Erupt Voted: Adope Hitter: 3 / _Lizman_: 5
Unyqe Voted: Adope Hitter: 6 / _Lizman_: 7
Unyqe started off making a valid point telling Adope to avoid wasting bars talking about himself rather than dissing his opponent. Erupt also made another valid point when he pointed out that its okay to do that sometimes to add a swag factor, but it should be reserved for longer verses. Unyqe, you pointed out to Adope that he had weak concepts, poor structure and broken multies. I think it would have been more helpful if you had given specific examples from his own verse to show what you meant by that. It's possible that he might not even understand how his multies were broken, otherwise he would not have used it in that way. I also felt you could have gone into more detail in your critique of Lizman's verse as well.
Erupt, contrary to Unyqe, you actually told Adope that he had a good structure but you also pointed out the same thing that his multies need work. Again, I think it would have been better if examples had been expo'd to show how he had different syllable counts to his multis and what was wrong with that and how he might not have slant rhymed properly in certain instances. You told him to "Stay away from multis like WEAK OR TOO".. They were capped for no reason n messes up the flow." But I personally felt he capped WEAK OR TOO because it goes with PHILLYS EAGLES, BITCH WE FEEL YOU, CHICK WE KILLED TOO, MISSED AN HEALED THROUGH, and PHILLY GIVES YOU. Yea it was broken (wrong syllable count) and it didn't properly rhyme with the rest of the scheme, but I wouldn't say it was capped for no reason judging from the style of the rest of his verse. He just needs to work on not having them broken but I understood why he capped them. You both gave pretty much the same critique to Lizman, and I also felt Erupt could have gone into more detail as well, but I felt like the way Erupt put it by pointing out that even though his verse shows that he understand complexity, he often totally ignores wordplay was notable and was a great advice for Lizman in particular. I felt that Erupt's critique towards Lizman had a better touch. As far as ratings go, I did feel that Erupt's ratings were a bit low in this. I probably would have rated them closer to what Unyqe gave them. Overall, even with all my criticism, I felt you both gave adequate and accurate expos and pretty much pointed out a lot of the same things to both battlers with the exception of certain nuances. It was very close, but I'm going to go with my feeling as to who brought the better overall touch to their expo and I'm going to vote for Erupt.

@ Student vs @ Phenomonon
Phenomonon Voted: Slithz: 5 / BLUNT MAN: 6
Student Voted: Slithz: 4 / BLUNT MAN: 5
Phenomonon, I liked the fact that you did a bar by bar breakdown, but I felt that you did so using generic terms and often didn't use specific examples from the battler's verses. You often said things like "Your next bar (shits tight/bitch light) was filler imo cuz there was nothing to it and you weren't really going anywhere with it" or the set-up wasn't relevant to the punch, but you could have gone further to show how. Nothing was innaccurate about the things you pointed out, but I think what benefits most battlers is not just if you point out what's wrong with their verse but when you also let them know how they can improve. Student pretty much did a bar by bar follow through of each verse as well, but he went further by showing examples from the battlers' own lines to further explain what he was saying. He even went so far as to offer for one of them to inbox him if they would like to learn more...which I thought was great! I also felt Student's rating of the battle was more accurate. You both did a great job, and had this not been a voting battle, I wouldn't have any critiques, but from reviewing both votes and expos, I felt Student's approach was more robust.

AfterThought's Vote
Unyqe Vs Erupt Battle: http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_detai...n=tb&id=442891
I thought both had nice expos that were straight to the point, both pointed out the flaws correctly, and pointed out what the battlers had to focus more on, the deciding factor here was the ratings, I think Erupt's ratings were a little more accurate than Unyqe's, so my vote goes to Erupt.
