This may seem stupid as hell to post in here, especially since it's my first post in a while lol, but it's in desperation. Going anywhere I can for help.

Is anybody on this site in anyway whatsoever associated with any part of the board of education in where they are from or a teacher?

I just want to know how to prepare for a thematic essay. My weakness. I usually average between a 30-40 (big range I know) on the MC questions on the practice regents so I probably need to score pretty average or high on this essay.

Any help?

I'm not a teacher and I'm not in NY, but I do have a history degree, and the only thing I can tell you in regards to the thematic essay is that it is imperative that you understand what you want to say.

When you sit down to write your essay, think of EXACTLY what you want to argue, and put it in sentence form.

I.E.

"The French Revolution held theological significance in the fact that it was the first time that Athiesm was widely offered as an alternative to religion."

Put this as your first sentence. Then argue why this is. Do not ever, and I mean ever stray from this point or try to "add" points on in your conclusion.

Argue directly. If you want, you can even state, "I am going to show this by highlighting three things", then list what you are to say in the essay.

It sounds retarded, but most people, even at the collegiate level cannot do it.
