Depends on how well the analogy/simile in concept REALLY is and how relevant it is the the single punchline. There are some people that do it way too much imo. It's more glaringly apparent in audio though lol you start to count how many times you hear it. Text is getting insane too.

True. Don't get me wrong. It's straight if the line is fresh and relevant. But 90% of the time when you see the set up followed by the word LIKE you know exactly or at least have a rough idea what the resulting punch is going to be. Then when it comes it's more a *sigh* than a "wow" it's very hard to use that word and not be predictable. But I guess that's more to do with an obvious set up. The word LIKE just gives it a corny edge.

And yeah.

I wouldn't mind if the word was used every now and then. But it's LIKE every line.

There are so many other way's to set up a punch or WP out there other than using a comparison.
