Yeah big time. None of those big name fighters went to a MMA gym. They all went to like specific classes and learned under the catagorical masters. Evangelista Cyborg for example. I heard in his fight with Nick that he was a Gracie Blackbelt, and dude is a complete slugger. If a Gracie Blackbelt gets arm barred first second they go to ground, what does an average jiu jitsu fighter do? I'd love to do it, even just in the gym if not in the cage. I imagine the full MMA training to be awesome as you work every part of your body.

Yeah MMA only rose around the 90s. You can debate Bruce Lee or whatever but he never actually implimented it into a promotion. UFC 1 must have felt like Tekken or some shit when everyone heard about it. As it moves on, although people will learn more, I imagine that they will master those too. Guys like Silva or GSP dedicate their life to this shit, and there will be more just like that in the future who end up being kick boxing specialists like cro cop or andy hug, submission specialists like maia or mir and probably a third like judo or muay thai. Wrestling will die out with the evolution of submissions. Hell Royce beat a sumo wrestler, so I can only imagine that people like Nog and Royce will be heavily surpassed in submissions in the future.

My uncle got his ear ripped off in rugby. And my uncle is 6'7 and played 4 years of pro-football for the Jets as a guard or tackle. Can't remember which...Rugby is tough.

I mean more wrestling throws, not really wrestling grapple. The typical wrestler is big, gets you down and ground and pounds a bit. His takedown is usually a slam, which are quite messy takedowns, especially against a submission fighter. I imagine the actual slam wrestler, like Brock for prime example, whill eventually be surpassed in skill. More judo and leg trip takedowns will take over slams for more controlled takedowns, and submission fighters will have evolved beyond letting themself stay grounded and bullied by wrestlers. Brock is a particularly bad MMA wrestler (despite previous accolades), but even the good ones will eventually have to specialize beyond their size and strength because technique will take ovr

Royce Gracie was able to takedown and submit almost any wrestler he was against, because wrestlers never knew how to deal with him and his technique was just too good at that time. Wrestling elevated quicker due to it being a much easier thing to master. I believe that wrestling has peaked whilst there are still room for complete masters and specialists of submission way beyond the level now. One again, I think history will repeat and those wrestlers wont know how to deal with they new age of submission fighters.
Subs are good and all, but aint got shit on pettis super kicking .
