While I enjoy the discord, is there anyone here who believes it has hurt the activity and presence of the forums? Or is that just me?

Yeah it's hurt the forums, but it's 2020 and we still have forums.

yeah i think so but i just got back after a year and literally everyone.. i remember is gone,..of note,..only been online around since the quarantine and Ramadan,dk how long i'll be back

But the discord is an official part of lb. If anything it has helped activity. We have access to multiple leagues through the discord and those leagues are also introduced to LB. It feels like a better step than v4. This is moving towards the future.

I think a lot of the discord activity is just totally unrelated to LB, and a lot of the time it just seems like an outlet for people that aren't LB members to talk about things that aren't LB, meanwhile the forums have all but died. I'm definitely a fan of having the discord, and I think it's the way of the future that will probably replace the forums eventually, but we need to make sure the discord is actually helping LB instead of just distracting us all with other stuff.

The forum model is outdated. If more people are using the discord rather than the forums, there's a reason for that. It's a more fluid form of communication. Use it to enhance LB rather than viewing it as something that takes away.

Discord is great because it fast and fluid like @NOBLE said. Other than that it’s 90% nonsense that overshadows the ACTUAL site. I guarantee you half of everyone in there haven’t voted on any battles in like a week. I really dig the discord but if the site dies due to lack of interaction I’m blaming all you discord goons in your little chatrooms talking about random bullshit. Lol

Yes, it’s hurt activity here. It’s understandable as it’s the chat box on PEDs so it facilitates conversations and more importantly for Let’sBeef it makes the live/audio aspect of things a lot easier. Discord battles on YouTube is a popular format, especially these days and it’d be foolish not to dip a toe in those waters if we have the capability.

I’m old and not an audio battler so it’s not my thing and it does kinda suck that it’s killed off whatever activity we had going for a minute on the site. But it’s adapt or die and Discord obviously appeals to more people in 2020 than these forums do....it’s what it is.
