Been doing Vipassana for a while. Meditating is great for clearing your mind, quelling anxiety and just relaxing in general. I'm a strict rationalist who tries to stray away from most spiritual pseudoscience but this personally seems to be objectively positive even if its a self fulfilling prophecy.

Meditation has nothing to do with spiritualism unless you MAKE it have something do with spiritualism. There's extensive scientific research to back it up.
Kind of like how you don't have to be a native american shaman to do psychedelics...

It's good to hear that you're working on mastering yourself, considering your history of mastering your bars.

True. Interesting though I've met many people who aren't shamans and do psychedelics but nobody who meditates & isn't spiritual. Which is totally anecdotal, but youre def right its a practice commonly used by spiritual people not an inherently spiritual practice itself
Thread question: How long do you guys usually meditate each session?

I usually try for 20 minutes, but I often don't have the time in the morning. It's often 10.

Sometimes my meditations can last a whole day! I practice aligning thought, word, and deed...which is basically making sure that whatever I'm doing matches what I'm thinking and what I'm saying, if I'm saying anything. It's a type of mindfulness that can last a whole day. If I'm sweeping the floor, for example, but I'm thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner later on, then I'm failing in that exercise. The mind always wants to stray. So if I'm sweeping, I concentrate on and only think about sweeping while I'm doing it....the same with all other activities, so all my activities throughout the day turns into a form of meditation.

I meditate too. Not often but I still do. I turn off all electronic shit near me and remain still focusing on my pineal gland which is in between your eyes behind the bridge of your nose. I almost always have a lucid dream with that kind of meditation

For sitting meditation can be anywhere from 15-20 mins to 2-3 hours
