Tech N9ne, while he may have a large audience that doesn't make him mainstream. Tech is an underground rapper. The only well known rapper that could even partially considered mainstream was Eminem. Royce da 5 9 and Crooked I aren't mainstream and only became known once they signed to Shady Records and they still aren't mainstream. The same way you have only a partially correct idea of multies applies te same way here. Mainstream refers to rappers that are constantly played over the radio and appeal to a large PERCENTAGE of their targeted audience.
