It was a good album, he went the experimental route. Beats are hot, familiar yet different.

Here is an interesting interpretation of the album as a whole. Not saying it is necessarily accurate, but definitely an insightful look at one way to look at the album.

I own nothing of kanye in my collection. I think otis is the wackest shit I've ever heard but it's because I produce. Anyway, with that being said, I think every one went in expecting this to be radio friendly club music and got there head smashed in.

If you listen to commercial radio everyday, listen to blood on the leaves, guilt trip, and bound.
I'm in it, and send it up will probably get strip club play

on sight, not bad... sounds like he was stuck to me... to proud to ask for help? The beat could have been so much more but would have to be like 10mins long. ...But I'm just talking about the beat.

I'll admit...the main reason I downloaded and listened to this album is because it seems so polarizing. Everyone who’s offered an opinion either think its dope as hell or its trash. No one that I’ve heard has been like “it’s just okay.” So I wanted to hear for myself to form an opinion.
It’s very electronic sounding...but there’s nothing wrong with that. Hip Hop started with those sort of sounds, and in a way, he almost took it back to Afrika Bambaataa & Planet Rock on some “Rock it Don’t stop it” swag.
I thought it was a fresh and different approach. Not something I personally can listen to everyday though. I enjoyed most of the songs on first rip, but I can see my ears getting tired of them quick.
