Nah, the user titles motivate people to battle. I probably wouldn't be doing ULC/LBA & LBT if it wasn't to aim for achieving that user title.

I see both sides. all these titles dilute their worth. But with no other incentives they are the only way to get people to compete.

Agreed, I probably wouldn't have entered LBT if their wasnt a chance for a title. I disagree with them killing the prestige on this site too. There's an obvious difference between a blue title and a green one. Yah, there's a lot of people with titles, but its obvious a lot of them don't hold any weight.

I don't think just any old tourney someone starts should earn them a title, because that really does dilute the prestige of them.

I remember when Olde won the GC when I was a rookie in 2smoking and thought "Shit man, getting a blue name like that would be awesome". Now, not so much. I'd still love to win the GC but the usertitle or name colour mean nothing.

there was a time where me, UA, and Mayneak basically ran this site .. we spent hours figuring out which accounts were Ricans... Silk MC's ... etc .. and we had to do this way before we had these cute little mod tools that did it for us .. alot of the things we did were behind the scenes so it looks like we never had to do much .. but there was a way more intense workload than there is now .. the amount of cheating back then was THROUGH THE ROOF.. i would ban about 15-20 people a DAY .. now i rarely ban anyone .. and i rarely get PM's to deal with any issues. i suppose i dont do a whole lot these days, like Eth said i mostly just answer PM's when i get them and keep activity up .. but i dont run tournies and thats what alot of people seem to think is the most important thing .. the reason i never did it isnt because i am lazy, its because i firmly believe all these usertitles have killed the prestige on letsbeef ... not that i dont see the concept behind it ... i do .. i just think it does alot of harm .. anyway .. not ranting to get recognition .. i definitely dont do alot these days .. but there were a few years that were really hectic for the old mods back then.. i have you guys to thank for it not being so bad anymore lol
