There's no hope for the site.

Our main focus is on live battles hoping to make a name for this "brand" and NOTHINGS happened so far. We get a few shout outs at most. But what else? Where is this site going exactly?

Live battles will get us nowhere. And it's obvious music's not gonna get us anywhere especially with these random ass radio shows. Play good shit, people will enjoy, people will follow ya.. Play whack shit, become the laughing stock.

Members are dropping faster and faster and sooner or later, who's gonna be here to support LB's (Management) decisions? I agree with a few posts above but good lord man. This shit is too damn obvious. Our site has NOTHING to offer. They'll read everyone's posts in this thread and get all bitch made because they're running with what THEY think'll work. Which is always some goofy shit. Majority of the existing members would rather have the old theme instead of this black/red bull.... What do we get (No...It'll take too long) lol. Another portion of the site gone due to fuck ups.

Everyone's giving up on LB. It's no secret that whoever's making decisions need to sit they dumb ass down. Stop trying to turn this into one of your fantasies and create a PROFESSIONAL business.

Truths aside, I am started to get bored of this community, but not rap battling itself. Still considering breaking away into my own site tbh, but I'm not sure whether the benefits of making a better site outweigh the risks of fracturing this community even further. The only reason I even post on these forums is because I haven't found another worthwhile one about a topic that interests me to post on.

Truths aside, I am started to get bored of this community, but not rap battling itself. The only reason I even post on these forums is because I haven't found another worthwhile one about a topic that interests me to post on.

1. The owners of the site virtually abandoning the place for years at a time leaving people in charge with no power to fix anything.
2. Leaving things broken for years at a time.
3. Owners expecting the staff to continue to give a shit after they ghost for so long.
4. The way people leaving and joining staff is handled
5. Thinking a new skin is going to do anything to wipe the stink of an already dead and decaying site.
6. Not getting at least one full time programmer on some kind of profit sharing or SOMETHING just to get things going. Even if you're doing nothing with the profits but paying the bills for the first few years you're at least making progress.
7. Thinking that the exclusive model is going to continue to work as it is.
8. Not expanding the scope of the site in the ways necessary to keep things fresh and relevant. No News section, tracks are still one at a time with no mixtape option, etc.
9. Starting the live battling shit to direct people here before the site is even in proper order.
10. Not listening to the users. If enough of us are saying something is bad then it's bad.

I think a coordinated member strike is the only real solution.

While I can't approve of the idea of destroying the site somehow in the first place, I suspect that if somebody, somehow, did that, they would either be too lazy to rebuild and let it die or just put the current version back in place.

1. The battle rap culture online is full of trolls, and even with the new rule updates, it seems that people intend on continuing to be a bunch of bitches than contribute to the community nature of LetsBeef.

(Beef is beef, but douchebaggery is also douchebaggery)

2. More Tinychat Activity (I'm gonna always say this as a problem/suggestion)

3. Better internal communication (External PR seems to be stronger than internal information to already established users)


Suggested Solutions:

1. LB Admins and Mods need to focus on the idea that LB is a community with various personalities that include douchebags that need to be constantly checked in order to keep to the established rules.... (An effective rule/regulation/policy is one that is enforced fairly and necessarily)

2. More Tinychat Activity (s/o to @Rant for trying to revive that shit, but TC hasn't been bumping for a while)

3. More focus of Admin and Mods on informing established members, and connecting new members with those willing to play the appropriate guiding role (LB mentorship).

The site seems to be losing activity (which I am guilty of a long hiatus myself), and part of the reasoning seems to be a lack of interest in what the site has going on internally (Ex. This last Audio GC that I skipped for the first time in a while was.... embarrassing in so many ways.... no hate to those who actually participated and showed)

Conclusion: LetsBeef should re-frame itself as a Rap Battle & HipHop site in order to create a better atmosphere that allows new users to elevate and participate more meaningfully in a community (which right now we seem to be more of a bitch fest website of repressed, angry individuals..... which there is a place for I suppose, but needs to be turned back into the more thrilling community it once was)

Almost every mod / fvc on here has beef with half of the website.
We need some new mods, newer faces. New fvc, that know how to judge audio battles. Less VP to mods and fvc, lots of people being robbed in some battles. That or nobody from fvc votes on a battle unless its a tournament. We need a reward system for people who can recruit new rappers ( emcee item, or a month exclusive). All in all, we need more active voters, active fvc for audio and text, with less VP..

Activity. The younger generation isn't represented at all here... an thats why the shit is so dead.

As humans we grow older an move on its natural. So with that in mind the lack of a real attempt to bring new members in to the fold is what has made LB so stagnant.

There is noone left to pickup the torch an I think that comes from a lack of advertising an getting the site name out in general.

And I also feel every other problem with the site stems from this. It's made staff lose interest made alot of members lose interest without new blood the site cant move foward. Sadly after saying this for years I think at this point it's to late in the game to do anything about it.

LB will last a few more years on the strength of ppl's nostalgia but those will be painfully inactive and an exercize in futility.
