There were only 2 battles left (Daylyt vs Swave = boooooring) and apparently Ill Will had a classic performance beforehand, but tbh I don't see this having a huge efeect on the culture as a whole; URL is fucked though. Venues were already weary of dealing with them, battlers have been openly airing them out about bad business practise and disrespecting the battlers too.
SM3 was doomed from the start IMO. They never booked ANY of the matchups the fans wanted, putting a negative spin on it from the off. Once the top tier names came out attacking Smack over this it only made it worse. Smaller venue too etc.
Math only really acted as the catalyst for the downfall of a brand already hanging on by a ball hair.
Still out of line though. He'll never battle again I wouldn't think, certainly not URL, whose contracts specifically state you cannot snuff your opponent. The Dose punch made his stock rise because it was a first, on tape and back then battle rap was loose as fuck; now it's much more polished, organised and professional; you just can't do shit like that. Math is ruined.
Bow Wow was also on the stage for this: I'm pretty certain that UFF won't last past the first season now, given what Math has single-handedly done to Smack's reputation.
When Smack can't pay these top tier guys (which he can't) or they stop working with him (which they will) then where are they gonna go? Straight to Organik. I really liked URL and thought that - as a brand - they were unmatchable, lightyears ahead of the other leagues, but - seeing the way URL treats staff, battlers and business compared to KOTD - it's no surprise to see the Canadians deservedly stake their claim as number 1.
RIP URL.
