Although I agree with you about Race not being a factor as far as “guest” I have to strongly disagree with you about how hip hop isn’t black music.
Cause it is. Idk what you or most people in this thread are but it comes from black culture. Idc how many American animation studios create good anime... it’s still a JAPANESE art style. I’m all for freedom against race labels but this is where the line is.

I know that might not be YOU saying that as I realize you’re more so quoting Jamar, but just in case anyone else even implies it isn’t, I just want to make that clear now @ NOBLE

I'm black...and I don't see Hip Hop as "black music." If you were to say Hip Hop was black-originated or black-dominated, I may agree with that, but the fact of the matter is...there have ALWAYS been people of other races involved in Hip Hop right from the very beginning, from Puerto Rican B-Boys and graffiti artists to white producers, etc. Hip Hop is global.

I get where you’re coming from but I’m against the idea of grouping everything into a global category. It’s black music in the same sense the Boondocks is a black show. Of course everyone enjoys it and white people help make it but... cmon lol. We’re so eager nowadays to not put anything in a category because it doesn’t sound nice. It’s always “you guys this is for everyone, love peace and sharing, go team” but I can’t do that with everything. Can’t black people own anything without having to share credit? I think Eminem is the GOAT personally BUT... hip hop is black music to me. Sorry

But anime is created by people all over the world. Its origins are Japanese, but its no longer PURELY a Japanese art style. Its like if a black dude was to make french food, and him only being a "guest in french cuisine". Makes no fucking sense

Lol but you’re still calling it FRENCH food. Not “Global food”. It’s FRENCH food created PRIMARILY by the FRENCH (Which is why it’s French food). Everyone can enjoy. I am in no way calling anyone a guest. Fuck Lord Jamar (like I said if you read the whole forum). All I’m saying @ Phil Banks is that when it comes time credit should be given where it’s due. Hell yeah everybody can watch BET... but it’s literally a black channel. Do you feel me in the slightest? lol bruh I’m not trying to sound all black panther “fuck the white man” right now.
