When was the last time you dropped a 9 on a verse? is it because no drops are worthy nowadays? Then there's the fact that only 32 line battles (with veteran participants only) get 9s or 10s. Post a link to a 9 or 10 rate battle. I want to see what people think is a near perfect verse.

Also I feel like today's battlers never look at great examples from the past and just arrogantly say FTOH. Maybe this tread will shine some light.

^I agree with the FTOH part. I never agreed with the movement simply because I've learned a GREAT deal from Old Heads.

As for verses, a lot of the verses now a days come out flawed. Some of you guys drop really crack, solid 9 Rate lines, but the consistency isn't there. I feel like the consistency from punch to punch has gone down tremendously, and a lot of the lines out now aren't really wowing. The last few punches that wowed me recently I think came from Vitty? Maybe you or Illokwent had a dope line that made me nod. When I vote I look at a creativity and originality aspect. But no, a 9 or 10 TO ME, is consistently dropping 9 or 10 worthy bars throughout the entire verse. One or two haymakers in a 16 or 32 isnt gonna cut it for me, if you've shown me you have the potential of Haymakers, drop them consistently, don't get lazy on me.

I've dropped less than 20 9s since I made my UnEtHiCaL account.

Bones, Illimit, UNKNOWN ARTIST and Grizz defo have gotten 9s from me before.

I think I a lot of people agree that the greatest battle ever posted was UA vs Daddio 32. Dimes and 9s from EVERYONE!! I feel like people back then were more lax back then. They just enjoyed the battles. Yeah they left expos explaining flaws sometimes but everyone was just enjoying. Feel like we vote as critics with an "I have to be a harsh voter so I'm respected" mind set. It was balanced.

But post some great battles guys. Dig in ya memories for your favorites.

DaDDiO's opening scheme wow's me everytime I read it.

DaDDiO and UA are my two favorites. The simplicity they bring to the table, but still being dope af is an art in its own right. Not many people can get a point across in that simple fashion.

I was talking to Jason earlier... shit just aint the same nowadays. I don't think it has to do with how low people are rating battles, but more so what they are rating them on.

Creativity is key, but I see people using bars that have no relevance and/or make no sense, but because they're thinking out the box they are getting praise and votes are working in their favor.

I think it's good to not only judge a bar on it's originality or creativity, but also individually on it's flow, delivery, relevance/plausibility and punch each and every time.

Maybe I'm behind in the times.... It's definitely hard to get over an 8 on an eight line battle, but I've seen it happen often back in the day. I used to give 9's and 10's on 16's when it was due quite often as well.
