Lies about Rap Music
What this thread is about, is EXACTLY the opposite of what you think it's about. "I'm flipping this on these people who say "People brand rappers by how we dress". For anyone with UK TV and Channel 4, you might know about the stupid hip hop week, and specifically this 'Life of Rhyme' show I'm watching.
These are guys saying that "Hip Hop is a way of life, a way to express ourselves through poetry and lyricism. People brand us and judge us by the way we dress, the way we speak and where we're from. We aren't like that, we speak of our lives and tell our stories through art". I'm power phrasing, but everyone gets the jist.
Now, I am literally MUCH better at whatever you want with these guys. I could beat them in a battle, I could write a better song, freestyle better, and overall as a rapper minus bad voice and natural things, I'd be much much superior to these guys in every way, yet I don't see any of this. To me, it's a hobby, and these mediocre rappers, or as they call themselves, 'MCs' are making out that rap music is all about the heart and soul. That they are being wrongly judged. Look at the songs of the best, and look at their histories.
2Pac was conviced of shooting and rape, Biggie was a drug dealer, Eazy E promoted beating wimen, Eminem speaks of murdering his daughter's mother.
Rap Music is a selfish and commertial thing. Everyone aspires to sell their records, and the majority of people who don't sell out are just not good enough to do so. Rap Music isnt about heart and soul, it's a music industry, and it's about making music people want to hear. People write meaningful songs grouped with songs about fucking wimen and taking drugs.
Is anyone here actually in belief that rap music contains the lies that these people speak? Look at some names on here. Gun related, drug related, murder related.
