I first approached lighthearted with a joking tone: "oh you" approach... but you're right. Lets not make things lighthearted/a joke.

It's not something that's kinda in the grey area. Its black and white. To enter any and all tourneys, people need to be ranked in the top 16/top 32 etc. That's it, mate.

Does it suck? Yeah, kinda... but its a step in the right direction to encourage people to battle in the arenas and get the site active and to not just sit in the wings waiting for a tourney and get signed up based on popular-merit as before.
