Aight so I decided to break down how I vote since I know some of you are bound to dm me saying I made a bullshit vote.

I look for 4 things in order, when I’m reading a verse.

1. Rhyming: Battle rap is still rap, therefore rhyming and schemes are the utmost important thing in the battle. If nothing rhymes, it’s simply not rap. Rhyming is judged on 3 subfactors, which are:
- Length of each Scheme
- Total Syllable Count
- Longevity of each word (only if the other two are completely tied, and only if one blows the other one out of the park)

2. Concepts. How hard hitting is the concept itself? How creative is it? Have they managed to put a good twist on an old wordplay? Concept includes the final wordplay and punchline, or just final punchline if there’s no wordplay or metaphor.

3. Execution. How well did they use the concept? Were their set-ups relevant to the concept? Did they help boost the main punchline to make it hit harder? Did they use the concept to its fullest potential? Execution is short for the Execution of Concept, Not Execution of The Bar itself, so you can still have high marks for execution even if the concept itself was corny.

4. Structure. Was the verse easy to read? Did I have to read it multiple times in order to understand it? Did each bar flow, or is the verse choppy? Structure includes the entire bar, and includes clarity, logical flow, and shit like capped multi’s and “ “ for metaphors and wordplay.

5. Botb, Botv, least important category and doesn’t actually go towards final score.


Any categories I should add? This is all what I personally look for in a battle verse. If you want me to vote on your battles, link them down below.


I’m trying to go for the opposite of the “25 words and leave” attitude most people have on the site, since that leaves their vote up for debate. When I vote based on the points system I use, I simply base it off of each category, and add them all up, so you know exactly my thoughts on each aspect of the verse, instead of just saying some bullshit like “One did etc etc.” Like some bullshit Bnas vote.


I am also willing to discuss a vote I leave to, and will request a mod to delete it if you prove me wrong on all of the points I made that you take issue with.


I hope that by making these long, break-down votes, I can prevent the amount of people on the site that feel that they got cheated out of a win, since I know that’s become an insane problem on here.
