No showing important battles.

It's no surprise that I, and others make a bit of a habit of no-showing battles. My question, then, is this:

Should there be implementation of a punishment for serial no-showing? Of course, I don't mean large scale punishments like serious infractions, or bans.(Unless the no-show were an issue in a sponsored tournament, or a collaborative tournament with other sites, etc.) But, for instance, if a person would be to no-show the LBT, LBA, or LBV in excess of, perhaps, twice, there could be an exclusion from the event for a set number of months. What do you guys think about this?

We can have a "No Show" list thread and itemized all official and forum tournaments,contests, and league battles and list who no-showed each one to keep track. Then when a tournament takes place, its up to whoever runs it to determine whether to exclude people from the no-show list and whether to exclude them if their name appears once, more than once, or however many times, etc. I don't think we should have any punishment beyond tournament exclusion and perhaps a "tournament failure" award though.

If we're going to hand out infractions for people no-showing, then whoever is running it should let people know that's a part of the deal BEFOREHAND and exactly how many points the infraction will be. I'm not in favor of infractions for no-showers, but if people agree to sign up for a tourney under those clearly stated conditions...then its w/e.

This is another excellent point. Infractions could create issues for those who have a legitimate reason to not have posted. But, I am still a firm believer there that should be some level of punishment for no-shows, especially for those who do so repeatedly. And I think the first suggestion is an fair, and balanced(s/o to Fox News) solution to this issue, and may help to negate it to some degree.
