Tourneys mean less

I suspect we are going to see a lot of names pop up in ranked before the GC tourney. And honestly I think that's how it should be. But 99% of other tourneys you really don't need to do shit to get into and that is what I believe is making some titles not mean as much.

Not really a suggestion just something I've noticed. Feels like the requirements to make it any any tourney is basically just to have a verse in somewhere at some point.

Yeah I agree. I think the problem is not that its too easy to qualify, but that too few people are actually trying to. We struggled to get 16 people for the Fall Throwdown, and a bunch of those didn't even show. Of those there were only two entrants that had even been in a tourney final before. I think experienced, top-level guys are really light on the ground at the moment, and even the ones that are around aren't participating in tourneys. It's great because it gives newer people, or people that have been battling a long time with no tourney success, a chance to have some nice runs and make it far in the brackets, but it does definitely undermine the importance of the titles. idk what to do about it tho

HONESTLY just remain supportive ! Encourage people to elevate and give honest feedback and welcome new battlers! The roster will only grow and get better if you do these things. You guys should however Screen battlers for tourneys! But nothing too strict!

Agreed. This is why the Seasonal tourneys are non-invitational, members must qualify during the 3 month period prior to that tourney in order to enter. Granted, someone could come back a week before and drop five battles to qualify due to the current low numbers the site has, though at least its something put in place to try and encourage more activity in the battling arenas and not just tourneys.

Also agree with what Covid-Starter has said above me, though a problem is a lot of the new members think they're the best ever yet constantly drop the worst wording and horrible bars and if you do, i at least, reach out to help them improve it only leads to nonsense and crying from said new members. So that kinda a double edged sword really.

In 2007 it used to be sketchy to qualify at 5-0.

Now 0-1 qualifies.

Its jist an old system that doesn't fit the current landscape.

I also genuinely dont understand why yous are sticking to X's tournament model when hes not even here.

Out of the last 12 text tournaments a moderator has only won three times. There has been plenty of instances where moderators lose in finals or don’t even make it. Everyone has a fair shot of winning a title.
