What makes a verse a 10 to you...

I’ve noticed recently that there hasn’t been many if any 10s thrown out in battles via votes in a long ass time. Is this due to lack of Dope verses or are voters expectations too high?

I’ve seen lots of 5,6s and on verses I thought were 7s and 8s ,

Like does the line length of the battle play a factor to you?
32 lines etc.
consistency, wow factor etc?

Just something that crossed my mind upon peeping votes

I usually rate battles on the energy both opponents bring to the battle especially if it has some type of build up or storyline to it. If it’s just a random battle, 9/10 it’s not getting a 9 or a 10.

Kindve like boxing. I’m more of a Sell the fight and duke it out instead of a random ass battle out of nowhere with nothing behind it. Holds no interest.

I’d be more interested reading a battle with 2 forum guys beefing like Ruin vs Cerberus than a random out of nowhere battle from DaDDiO vs UNKNOWN ARTIST.

i totally agree with this, but imo no one deserves a 9-10 unless the verse was flawless and that rarely happens.

i think 6-7s are more common bc thats just the most frequent quality of verses that are posted.

A good verse usually warrants about a 7 for me. A great verse usually gets an 8. A verse with no flaws, with set ups on point that finish with a backhand of a punch every time will warrant a 9-10. I do issue 9s and 10s but it’s rare. More so rare 10s than 9s.

Voting has changed to a low scale from back in the day.

To me it is simple

1: Garbage - Doesnt rhyme, no punches, troll verse.
5: Not bad - reasonably solid in most areas
10: One of the greatest verses ive ever read

Pretty easy to rate people on that scale.

To be fair, no ones written a verse worth HIGH rates lately so to see people tossing 6s and 7s or anything below, I don’t really blame them.

I am tossing 8 and 9's.

For me it is as follows

1-3 = the verses which do not fill up the box or are just random rhymes

4 = Still random rhymes but atleast a little insulting

5 = average multis with a few failed attampts at punches but fine jabs but with a lil inconsistent
wording

6 = solid hold over multis few good build ups but played out punch concepts or not too effective
with a tinge of a few personals insults with average wording and wordplays

7 -8 = solid multis, relevant set ups, good personal insults and fresh concepts overall with one or
two haymakers!!

9-10 = same as 7-8 for the most part but with humour as well i mean punches that either make
you go wow or dayum!! or LMFAO !!
