Scheme Tournament #3: Round 2 Review and Round 3 Predictions
The Quarter Finals
Round 2: Separating the Men from the Boys (like PEDOPHILE RESTRICTIONS! #VittyGOATBars)
It was an enjoyable round to be in and to vote on, despite the frequent database errors and gateway time-outs. Rohaan once again overturned my prediction and in good style. Every battle I read was solid and everyone came their hardest which was a refreshing turn of events given the cold and empty vibe of Round 1.
Battle of the Round:
@ Wonderbred vs. @ Rohaan Rane
It was the battle where I saw the best scheme-work either side with minimal word repetitions and maximum creativity. Two different styles also. Wonderbred has more of a slow build-up, counter-puncher type approach. His punches made themselves and were weaved within the scheme alone so the need for referencing becoming obsolete in this respect made for a smoother and more casual read. I was also impressed with Rane's scheming with a high density of multies, frequent jabbing and a few good punches. Both surprised and impressed me.
Punchlines of the Round:
I should record this shit as I make ya chick's FACE AND TAINT FLOW buy something to film videos and sell the TAPES TO RAKE DOUGH get the new recorder shooting ya Honey and "Break In The Cam A Lot For Money"... like I snuck through King Authurs GATES TO TAKE GOLD!! (GOOD GRIEF ... vs. Crysis)
#DamnItRule.....after i 'vault into an explosion' & show'em how deadly this STRATE, HOOK, JAB IS yall will see his 'combinations blown away' similar to if a 'SAFE TOOK DAMAGE'! (GRizzEAT ... vs. Subreal)
And I don’t care if you SMASHED MANHATTAN cuz that’s just CLASSIC ACTIONS for RAGHEAD FASCISTS! (Wonderbred ... vs. Rohaan Rane)
Disappointment of the Round:
@ UNKNOWN ARTIST vs. @ Dave
I wasn't expecting a no-show as I thought everyone in this round was on-board and active. I suppose it's kind of a relief for Dave but at the same time extremely disappointing to miss out on a bout with a notable HOF and for us to witness that bout. I guess he must have ran out of haggis...
Round 3 Predictions
[ @Dave vs. @Bleu]
SCHEME: Eating Ya Children
I've gone back and forth on this one. The truth is, a cliché it might be, this battle could go either way. Quickly analysing their styles, Dave is based more off of steadily built-up punchlines with a larger emphasis on personal content and more in-depth concepts. Bleu has a slightly more punch-dense structure with simpler yet powerful concepts. I feel if both stick to their guns and bring their best, Dave's verse with have a better readability. Yet again, this is subjective. If Bleu's verse can trump Dave's drop based on readability, then it's his for sure yet regardless of that, Bleu's consistency could outshine Dave's material.
[ @ViTRiOL vs. @GRizzEAT]
SCHEME: Arteries Cloggin
Drop your predictions.
[ @2FUEL vs. @GOOD GRIEF]
SCHEME: Watching A Movie
Grief has got a lot of momentum coming out of his last two performances. I felt the quality of his material dropped slightly in Round 2 in comparison to the previous round but he without a doubt has a very firm grasp of scheme-work. With 2FUEL scraping a win over Row and a free pass in Round 2, I just feel as if he's had too much time to relax. I could be completely wrong. Basing it on text ability, Grief's conceptual prowess is something to be reckoned with and Fuel is going to have to focus on originality.
[ @Rican vs. @Rohaan Rane]
SCHEME: Carlos And Rohan
So the dude has overturned two of my predictions. Henceforth, I have to base this prediction largely on previous performances, with ability taken into account also. If I was to glance at the names, it would go to Rican. He's a lot more experienced and generally provides more readable material. I would say Rohaan's momentum and confidence taking him into this gives him a slight advantage but he's going to have to be careful not to be overconfident and stay vigilant when writing his verse. With Rican's raw ability and Rohaan's momentum being the focal factors of this battle, I can't split it. It's an unforeseeable result and I believe Rican is now up against his biggest challenge so far in this tournament. I kindly ask for you to drop your opinions on this also.
On that note, I am off to write my verse. I trust you'll do the same.
[@ Bleu @ GRizzEAT @ GOOD GRIEF @ 2FUEL @ Rican @ Rohaan Rane @ Crysis @ Obey @ Wonderbred @ Subreal @ Lockhart @ Punk @ UNKNOWN ARTIST @ RULE @ ILLoKWENT - drop your opinions, choices for punchline of the round etc.]
[@ Dave - if you wish to do so, drop your verse for UNKNOWN ARTIST in this thread]

I'm Celtic as well so it counts as self deprecation.

Are you ACTUALLY Irish or are you Irish in the same way Americans are Irish?

Mum's Irish. Dad's Irish. Cousins, uncles, aunties are Irish.
Generation above were pretty much all in convents and Catholic institutions. One perk to having a Nan that was institutionalised is the money that they share with you from the Suffering Reimbursement they get from the Irish Government. Scoooore.
