Tournament Deadline Handling
So I've seen this discussed recently in the forums and it seems like going forward the mods running the tourneys are trying to be more formal and strict in regards to the deadlines. (mostly due to the debacle of the CBT). IE Student set a firm deadline with a 1-time only 1 day extension for the GC. This looks good on paper, but i'm not sure if there's anything stopping people from posting late.
For example, Panorapic posted a few days after the deadline in the battle where he and Shiz both missed the deadline. If left as is he will now advance rather than being DQ'd. I guess what I'm wondering is: is there something the Mods can do to block people from posting once the deadine is up? Perhaps they can just remove verses that were posted after deadlines? Otherwise, if people can just post whenever and nothing can be done, the new efforts to keep deadlines tighter will be useless.

Tourney verses have to be physically closed by someone. Not positive if any mod can do it or just the one running the tourney. I wonder if there is a way to set a deadline that automatically restricts someone from posting after the deadline has been surpassed. That would seem to be the easiest fix. Not sure if that would take extra coding or anything like that though.

I granted Panorapic an extension for the 20th, which is the day he posted, and in the sign-ups I said a 1-time, up to 2 day extension I know the 20th is 3 days but I made the judgement call seeing as @ Shiznit hadn't even logged in (& still hasn't as of now). I also told Shiznit he could post by the 20th but he has missed the extension deadline so he's DQ'd.
To answer your question we usually post a comment on the battle saying "Battler has been DQ'd, please vote accordingly" and if anyone votes for the other person we just delete it. Other then that there isn't as way for the system to automatically DQ someone and/or block people from voting. There also isn't a way for Moderators to remove verses once they've been posted, only full Admins.

Any mod can moderate any tournament (close rounds/advance) and there might be a way to set a deadline but it's not built in so I would bet it would involve extra coding n' stuff.

Ah ok I didn’t know about the extension, but that was just an example anyway.
And yeah I see now what you mean. Can just force the loss by making everyone vote for the other guy. That works.
