You think have lead to and or still are hurting the site in it's current state


Can be Anything about it whether policies, decisions, direction.....Anything. Even if the intent was good at the time... You feel was detrimental in the long run.

I think this would be a good chance to out and address issues in the hope that those in the position to do so can maybe turn things around before it's too late.

Burying heads in the sand could be the straw that breaks the camels back at this point

and in order to fix a fault, you first need to acknowledge there is 1.

Could you both be more specific? Maybe add what you think would be a solution?
I don't know you much Azur but I know Babylon has a lot of thoughts on the site as I've seen you be quite vocal.

I know it feels like trying to flog a dead horse at this point. Think of it as 1 last attempt at getting your point across. I don't blame people for feeling jaded about the topic and many similar.

And for everyone please post genuine complaints and try not to turn this into a grudge fest with people you fell out with recently. I know it sounds presumptious but we know it can and does happen when people get burnt by someone else for 1 reason or another.

For those wondering.

I'm not copping out. I'll post my thoughts later. For now I just want to start a blank slate so everyone can come to their own conclusions.

If I mention that starving children are dying in Africa en masse on a daily basis ten thousand times to raise awareness, do they suddenly stop starving to death? Nope.

To be more specific, to me, this site needs to have more than one fucking person attempting to run its technical side. Most small teenager made websites have 3 webmasters. Most companies have tens upon tens. If you want to start advertising LetsBeef as a brand, and if you want someone to look upon our domain and be impressed with us how about we first get some real people to work on it? We've had the same person run the technical side and make only the bare minimum reality for FAR too long. Pugz looks like he can adequately run the physical branding side of Letsbeef, but half these fucking people don't even know the name of the person who codes / scripts for letsbeef. It's like he's not even a real person, that's how disconnected he is from this place.


I'll just observe this thread until I go on more about this particular gripe.

Well only been back for about a week...but def don't like that dude talking over the beat during an audio battle (i can see the need to advertise, which is fine when listening to them, but shouldn't be there during a battle) Other than that site seems better than it was so can't really speak on issues or just an overall lack of people nowadays

To give a very serious reply to this thread let me go ahead and ask you a question. What keeps you here? Before you think of an answer let me first ask this:

What keeps you on any website on the internet? It is a VERY complex combination of more than a few hard things to master.

You need:

A smooth, fluid graphical side to your website. You need to have the perfect balance of detail and minimalism, for if you're too complicated people will view your website as an eye strain. Too minimalist and you'll be viewed as boring and featureless. Letsbeef has a very sizable issue with this, because lets face it. Letsbeef has looked like a shitty myspace page since its inception. The only reason people, including myself have developed such a love for the look is because we see letsbeef as more than a website, it's a culture. A community. So we place it on a pedestal. That's why half these people havent left, and it's why every time I leave I end up coming back. We need to see this shit as a science more than a "Oh I think this looks dope" kind of thing. Stop making decisions based upon the opinions of a few and instead make them with the thoughts of groups en masse viewing the site.

Solution?
I think we need to be able to change our skins. Take a play from Yotsuba based image boards such as 2chan, 8ch and 4chan's book of tricks and allow users to choose a predefined list of 3-8 themes that we could pay someone to create. This way no one will say "this blue and black looks like a 3rd grader drew it" , or "this red and black looks so edgy I just cut myself on it" Let us choose. Customization and options for the user is the FUTURE of internet media, and is already a staple of some of the most massive corporations on the internet. You're drastically losing people by looking like an unchangable piece of shite, letsbeef.com

Drop the stereotypical "MIC IN DUDES HAND" or "CROSSED MIC BUTTONS" look and go with what looks good, not relevant. Or keep these things and just make them settle well visually..

A dedicated marketing team.

Know what letsbeef has? A few guys who want to make the site get better so they post about on twitter and youtube.

Know what Letsbeef should have? A dedicated team of editors, graphic designers, merch creators and social media directors to adequately represent the Website online. Take taco bell on twitter for example, people follow them who dont even especially want to support their brand! The guys who run it just make jokes, and POOF! you have a successful online presence. This is so easy yet never been done.


NUMBER 3:

A dedicated technical team behind the scenes.

I touched on this already, because its such a fucking given that its almost laughably sad that its not a reality for letsbeef in the almost DECADE that its been alive. You need help as a webmaster. What we're doing to the guy scripting for LB is almost terrible for him, it's a lot of fucking stress for one dude. That's why we need to stop blaming him, and start blaming the people who can change that but never have.
