Lockin in a battle

Iv seen many ppl do this, where there is a battle up for grabs in the text or voice battle section. now i see ppl post in the comment box "Got IT" or "i got this one" etc. Because they want to take that battle. In the end someone will type up their battle and then as soon as its finished they post it and its not posted to that battle they were aiming for , but it ends up bein a easy lose beacuse it was specifically for that battle and someone posts on your battle. It causes ALOT of confusion. and i believe there should be away to "lock in" on a battle to secure that this doesnt happen. i understand Closed battle is some sort of version of what im talking about but its not the soution to this situation. its specifically made to call out a person not to accept that other arttist battle just sitting there for grabs.
