It's obvious that at least 50% of Let's Beef emcees are high in the ranks mainly because:
1. They don't open battles often
2. They accept challenges when they feel they are lyrically capable of defeating the opponent.

Although this is very effective if you're looking to carry up your rank here, it has its cons. For example, lack of development since the emcee do not battle often and because the emcee battles poor opponents, the wins are usually easy and unchallenging.

If, however, you want to become a good emcee on this site here are some tips:

1. You must first be comfortable with losing battles because all developing emcees must lose battles first.

2. You must face tough emcees that you feel are worthy enough to battle you or that you feel can put up a great challenge.

3. You must read often. Check out other battles and note the use of vocab, wordplay, multies and other elements.

4. You MUST practice to use the elements of a battle, especially punches and multies.

5. Always vote fair and avoid conflicts with other emcees.

6. Choose a crew that you are comfortable with and you feel will push your lyricism to the top of its peak.

7. Challenging weak opponents leaves little room for development so ensure that when you choose a battle the opponent is not lacking in the elements of that battle.

8. Don't be afraid to open battles. You need to battle as often as possible in order to develop at a faster pace. Don't forget this.

9. Choose bars that you are comfortable battling with. A tip is to start with 8 bars, then advance to 16 and 32 as you develop.

10. Finally, be confident. Put your all in every battle. This is why it is important to face tough emcees because you feel obliged to give your best. This is the BEST way to achieve the status of Let's Beef best.

Remember, skill is not always depicted by rank. There are alot of friend voters and biased voters. Some emcees only vote based on rank also. This does not affect your development lyrically, but based on rank it does. The bottom line is, once you feel that you are advancing, continue battling and you will succeed.
