growin up i brought up myself/ nobody there to catch my wealth/ lonesome had to move myself/ had to find my way through/ lil youngin but the stage grew/ people talke but they don't know what i've been through/ having a step-dad that beats your mom/ when you come home to see your peeeps are gone/ specially your mom, tells you she loves you and your her center/ when her boyfriend gets drunk you try to defend her/ but i haven't seen her since i can remember/ age ten moved past that shit/ slanged and banged just to get a lick/ police turned the corner know i hit foot/ die ti survive that's what it took/ goin in and out of juvenile/ i was hot by the police like the news child/ no shit passed me/ get fucked up you tryed to ask me/ a cold game like it was nasty/ a roll game like it was his last beat/ now i'm stryin to get some fresh air/ as i walk i get a fresh stare? black,red,yellow,blue, get shot at for the clothes you wear/ trin to help someone else but you conceded/ look down at your hand they bleedin'/ bloo from the mutha fucka your momma got beated/ thanks mom for leavin/ another thanks for believen/ my dad was real help/ choked my ass for the way i felt/ so i turned to hustlin as a 9-5 trust me homie lifes worth stayin'alive
