Although ones concepts for metas were were tipping the clever scale, the execution and structure was somewhat of a buzz kill and it effected my vote drastically. If you had found a happy medium constructed for this verse incorporating those things, my vote may have changed. A nice battle. Alright: One was consistent from top to bottom but they were mad repetitive; they didn't seem to divert away from the structure to create dynamics whatsoever, each punch seemed alike to the one before, which made it quite a boring read. The winner got this from swag and creativity all the way through; a lot of the bars weren't constructed in an orthodox style, which gave it unpredictability and class. Alway fair. Vitty's votey. ehh dope shit but this is a matter of preference... one threw punches in bunches... the other had the swag and creative schemes... the punches in bunches can make or break ya... all the likes can kill your verse but worked pretty good here... as with the creative concept route can have too much filler... but again still made it work in this one... pretty close IMO but one came through... fair dropped... First of all, solid drop to both. This was a haard battle to judge. That being said.. Ones verse consisted of several hard hitting punches w/ nice, clever set-ups and some good wordplay, while the others was made up of very clever concepts, creative subtle wordplay, solid punches & more fluent multis. The openers were both on point, but one was far more creative, original and personal. With consistent word/letter play throughout the bar. I felt the middle/body of the drop was ones strong point. The winners concepts werent quite as fresh here, while the challenger seemed to elevate the quality of his punches... After the multi-transisition i felt ones drop lost a bit of steam, while the winner threw together some effective wordplay and punches to gain momentum. After thoroughly reading both verses, I feel the deciding factors here were structure & flow. The losers repetitive structure had a negative effect on the impact of his punches, while the winning verse used less obvious wordplay & smoother set-ups to ease into his punchlines, which made them more effective and easier to read. This was quite a decent battle tbh. Maybe expected a little more from a tournament final, but both nice nonetheless. Both verses were actually pretty similar in the way they flowed. Tbh, there wasn't any tremendous jabs thrown by either side...I've seen both go much harder. This was very close, but one edged it for me with slightly more cleverness on some lines. Fairs. Voted: Yes (Hidden)
