Whatta finals guys .....great job to both, both did well with the scheme, both had Olympic bars must be coming soon lol

Both had quotable after quotable with the bars

LH: really dig the PEGASUS line

Xen: the closer

Been back and forth so many times re reading

My winner here barely narrowed it out against the opponent....slim margin of victory here

Not an easy choice...thank you guys for this battle

First off, congrats for making it to the finals. Also, this scheme was difficult. I'm really glad to see slants and internals used skillfully to supplement the verses from both. Since its finals, I'll break it down.

Lockhart:

As a Mod? You "dug a bigger hole for US" than our gov’t igNORIN' THE DEFICIT, so I’ll “steal money. You can put the house on that” til I’m in court for MORTGAGE EMBEZZLEMENT!

Good angle. Everything connects. Not high-impact, but sets the tone. (7)

Drive-by! If I find the FORD THAT YOU’RE REVVIN’ IN I’ll get everything from the DOORS TO THE PEDALS HIT! Even “give the Mustang wings” - bitch I’ll turn that HORSE INTO PEGASUS!

Simple and clean from setup through punch. No issues (8)

Act sheepish ‘n you gon’ need The LORD AS YOUR SHEPARD WHEN I “let it ring 5 times ‘n run up w/ the TORCH” LIKE A MEDALIST!

Continuing the momentum here. 'n you gon' was an aware, but but not really needed. (7)

“You gon’ have a harder-time gettin’ across-a-line” than bein’ at the BORDER ‘N MEXICAN when I “son this mf’er” - you woulda SWORE IT WAS OEDIPUS!

Border line was cool. Oedipus line was crack. Felt like wording on the 'Border' setup could have been simplified. the way the bar is written i almost wanna split this to critique the concepts individually (8)

But we’d never see you “go in, pussy” - this DORK IS A CELIBATE! So any “bright ideas? I’ll flip a switch” ‘n turn your CORPSE INTO EDISON’S!

To the point. Really dug the 'flip a switch' idiom and the punch (8)

All I need’s the “bare necessities for this Phroxen act” - word to Leo’s aWARD FOR “THE REVENANT” when he had to stay WARM FROM THE ELEMENTS!

Dope line and concept. Limited punchworthiness. Felt like ending with 'Award for the Revenant' would have flipped this around. (8)

“You signed on to get this work for free” - this is MORE AN APPRENTICESHIP, see your accomplishments came when the site was DORMANT ‘N DESOLATE so “in a sentence? You came after all the action” ‘n took the FORM OF THE PREDICATE! That's why "the voters saw this heat comin' and chose change" as if Al GORE WAS THE PRESIDENT!

You went off on this closer. I like the three line build on the punches. Risky to do in a 16, but as the ender it hit. This also had some of the biggest slants in the whole verse on 'more an' 'gore was'.. (9)

(55)

Phroxen

since UR FRIENDS W RHETORIK the new multi's FORENSIC EVIDENCE? yea coz YA BITCHED & MESSAGED HIM TA SWITCH THE TEXT W/ SHIT YA INTERESTED IN... idgaf, "whatever u say getn finished" like PREDICTIVE MESSAGES!

*Removes stray bullet* Aight, this set the tone well. Chuck full'a scheme too. Pun hit as well (9)

i knew sumn smelled funny.. YA SCENT IS FEMININE, FISH & ESTROGEN.. "only usin Pussy moves" like playin King TA FINISH TEKKEN WITH!

Cool Tekken reference. Been hearing a lotta Yoshimitsu lately. the pun was aight, def not as crazy as the opener (7)

MAH FIST CONNECTIN W/.. YA NECK & CHIN, CLEFT YA LIP.. send ya to the "Host w/ a split grill" but it aint A BIT W/ LETTERMAN! (getcha boy Rhet)

I fw this punch. and the internal worked well here. kinda crutchin on 'with/wit' throughout the scheme. (8)

u know u cant beat me, THE SHIT IS EVIDENT.. already "kicked the fuck outta Holmes" like EVICTED RESIDENTS! u goin the same way A 'LIFT' DIRECTION IS.. HEAVEN SENT, u gon be "livin in the sky" like UR W/ THE JEFFERSONS! (movin on uup!)

started, eh then ended with Jefferson pun weny crazy tho. 'Evicted' might be my least favorite slant of ur verse. (8)

ya hoe gotta throat AS BIG AS PELICANS, she "do more jobs under the table" than a CONVICTED FELON LIST! she the "best to finish" like OLYMPIC MEDALISTS.. "we getn At Her All durin the day" like PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE for ATTENTION DEFICIT! (Adderall)

momentum picked up here. first overlap of multis in the whole battle with 'metalist' 'deficit' (9)

ya past life: ENLISTED VETERAN? then U'LL GET THE REFERENCE: THE SMITH & WESSON GRIPPD 'AH LIFT YA BRETHEREN.. "half ya site blackd out so look @ Ease" - it aint A VISION MEASUREMENT! (E's)

still really talkin' to him here. solid punch and concept (8)

hope YA GET A REVEREND: THA CLIP IS DEVILISH, & WHEN THE METAL HIT YA FRIGGIN HEAD'LL SPIN like THE CHICK FROM EXORCIST!

i fw with the rhyme, i think any of the last 2-3 bars could have been the ender though. this was a straight up flex on the scheme tho. (7)

(56)

Overall:

Like i said, both understood the assignment and maximized the scheme to it's fullest with minimal outliers to the actual scheme itself. internals were used skillfully. punches were worked in well. if i can say anything to other voters... factor in that both these writers bent the term "Forensic Evidence" to the fullest. 'Fore-In-Sick Ev-uh-dense' can absolutely be 'Fawr-en-sick Ev-eh-dense' or any other variation. I hope this tournament has set a new precedent for scheme tourney's moving forward. creative risks should be welcomed and leveraged to the fullest.

Lock's consistency kept him in the battle. No real disparity across the verse. It felt like being linked to the scheme did limit some punchworthiness and fucked with the wording at times.

Lockhart BOTB: Closer - “You signed on to get this work for free” - this is MORE AN APPRENTICESHIP, see your accomplishments came when the site was DORMANT ‘N DESOLATE so “in a sentence? You came after all the action” ‘n took the FORM OF THE PREDICATE! That's why "the voters saw this heat comin' and chose change" as if Al GORE WAS THE PRESIDENT!

Phroxen's was also consistent through the verse. I do believed he had higher highs in terms of punch impact and scheme usage.

Phroxen BOTB: ya hoe gotta throat AS BIG AS PELICANS, she "do more jobs under the table" than a CONVICTED FELON LIST! she the "best to finish" like OLYMPIC MEDALISTS.. "we getn At Her All durin the day" like PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE for ATTENTION DEFICIT! (Adderall)

Phroxen Edges 56-55 (1 fucking point ..u kidding me?)

Amazing battle. Also, my battle of the scheme tournament. as the final should be. Props guys and good luck to whomever wins. well deserved.

First off. What a Final! Both dropped some serious fire here. Many quotables on both sides. Tough one to call but i'm leaning towards Phroxen more on this one. Massive props for putting on a fire final, guys. Fairs in.

Lock and Phroxen yall both did your thing.

Lock surprised me with breaking down the bars this time I could tell you was referring some of your multis to mythology. Phroxen you always coming with the punches but you held yours too.

Yall both did amazing so the vote was fair.

But only one could win this !

THE CLEANER

both had dope verses here. one has the personals category on lock, whereas I felt the other made better use of the scheme and flowed better. neck and neck, this one is splitting hairs but i feel one was ahead in more categories than his opponent. salute to both, true winner here is the audience.

Close, I feel like one has the fresher concepts even with some stretched bars while the other went a little harder in the last round. 8/7

Good showing from both. Time for expo.

Lock - I wanted to like your opener because the concept was cool but it was the equivalent of someone using forced wordplay to me because no one refers to the US as "us", they say Yoo-S. The predicate bar didn't really hit for me since the predicate comes after the subject and predicate is part of the action, it contains the verb. That was the lows for me the fire bars were the mustang & oedipus.

Phro - the lows for me were the Tekken bar because I've never played that and I think it's too obscure and niche to use something like that in a battle when you have to look it up it doesn't hit even if it's clever. The predictive text bar was fire, adderall & the convict bar.

I'm leaning to Phro because I felt he was more consistent with some heavy haymakers, the scheme, and my loser had a few misses that didn't resonate with me as much. Highs were amazing on both sides though, so I had to go with the lows / consistency . Just my opinion obviously and I hate having to choose a winner but if my one vote decides the battle then ya didn't do enough! Props to both.

See the scheme was changed. Both yall had some nice punches, some of the scheme work was off though, especially with the rhymes for "Forensic"

HORSE INTO  /DORK IS A... doesn't go with Forensic for me . Same as  MAH FIST CON & THE CHICK FROM ..

GL to both

Dope final. Both did your thing. Got one getting this with better/smarter setups, just all round more creative/wittier imo. Also thought they stuck to the scheme better. Good luck.

Ahhh cmon Phro. Maybe its an accent thing but you're really taking too many liberties with the FOR part of FORENSIC EVIDENCE. it really took me out the verse a bit. its a bit suprising cause I see you as one of the best when it comes to multis. I assume this is just an off day at an unfortunate time.

This is a clean win. Lock held the scheme tighter and overall had better content. good battle to both.

METAL GEAR
<DPS>
The Phantom Pain

I thought I had already voted on this... typed out a massively long vote. Oh well. To summarize, I felt both verses were obviously strong, and it was worthy of a finals... but there were parts of both verses where I felt It slanted a bit too much from the original scheme. Both had a slightly different approach to the scheme as well, I think a minor way in which certain syllables were stressed. One side, however, I felt played it much tighter throughout the entire drop in comparison to the opponent without slouching on the punches or wordplay.

Also.. There were parts in both verses where I felt a syllable of the scheme was dropped from the scheme To make the rhyme fit. Has to happen sometimes but in the scheme tourney think we need to scrutinize a bit more...

so anyways, after the first few reads... I had the loser as the winner. I ended up switching it solely off what I perceived as the better use of the scheme in alignment with the punches that were setup, being a bit more strict to the scheme in comparison, and keeping up with a creative drop.

3rd time reading this battle, both pimps did they thang. Punches from one were harder and I think the winner kept it consistent his whole drop with punches and his usual aggression but man oh man the loser was swinging here too. Congrats to both and whoever wins!

I thought one kept well on with the scheme and had more punches on the table the other had awkward wording but decent set ups.. overall I'm leaning to a more polished verse.

Had to read this a few times to get my winner. Different approaches and pronunciations of 'forensic' made it an interesting comparison. Lock's mortgage and predicate punches and Phroxen's messages and Jefferson's bars were personal favorites. Congratulations to whoever wins this in the end. Well earned.

This was absolute FLAMES on both sides, a real master class at this, seriously the top level of talent so props to both of y'all. Both had a lot of good points, some minor flaws but I've got to pick my winner with the idea in mind that this was a Scheme Tournament so putting that first & foremost, I pretty much agree with Rhet's insanely detailed breakdown. This really could've gone either way, don't have any more feedback so props again, LB won either way but congrats to the winnner.

Dope battle.

I wish I got to personals more but dope drops on both ends. Winner is really who a felt made this scheme match there style more but this can go either way.
