<div>"You've got the treats from your sack?" Mom asked over a bag of kernels poppin' off in the kitchen. I nodded promptly chomping a Reese's in half. Dad was turning purple jostlin' Jaws in position, the VCR a wee reach far enough to bother the tweak in his back; our perfect Hallow-Thon film tradition. Sinked in, relaxed & knee deep in snacks; the sleepiness creeped in, that's when the screen turned to black—just a circle, off & on, hectic glitching. I was sure this was Hell the second the girl from a well began to surface; crawling from the television. I couldn't peak from my hands. One squeeze of a glance; my parents were murdered; unhinged jaws, their expressions twisted. Before I even could mourn, I was eating the floor, dragged into my TV's own lore. Submerged in the walls of this drenched kid's prison. That's when the water started to turn red, the consistency thickened. It's like the bottom of this accursed well just flipped it's position. I come droppin' onto a girls head; all the witnesses snickerin'. It was a prom or something that'd gone left. The hemoglobbin on her poor dress must've set the ignition, in less than a minute the whole spot had sparked to a scorch fest. I ditched the smoke for a hall the fire strayed from. Paralyzed, barely moving. Feeling sick, alone... & a pocket vibration? I answer, "Hi there, eh, who speaks?" All they reply is, "do you like scary movies?" I could feel their stare ensuing as I steal a glimpe of robes, black, their daunting white face is baring a haunting dialation, as if it were a screaming crippled ghost. A knife carrie'd loosly. Super unsettled with no plan of attack, I find the room: 237 & slam the door, lached. Until a man with an axe starts losing his head with every krank to the hatch. Assuming he gets in, I lock myself in the loo sure my death's writ. Is this some fancy prank? I see some handwritten tags; a few words said: "red rum" &... "namydanc"? When I look in the mirror, it's clearer what they truly had read, but that second ones weirder, "Candyman". If I wasn't before this, I was shook after that. The lights took to a flash, & suddenly omits a scantly man, with a hook for a hand. As he put up a jab I sunk from the floor as if flushed down the toilet. The same old ruse, but the place was newer. Figures I'd find myself now in a paraded sewer. It had fake balloons, a trace of poop, & a child; fillet'ed & skewered. A clown sitting, impatiently humored. His face in two as his jaw departed in a snake like maneuver. I escaped right into it; at a throttled pace away, I found myself in a horror chamber laid with assorted ways to pain. A deep voice overhead saying, "Wanna play a game?" Just when I'd given up on a save, the puppet tricycles up to my space: "You're telling me that's all?" he says as he's taking his mask off. Underneith, a redheaded mad doll with rad scars covering his face swipes for my jugular vein. As my throat opens my eyeslids do to—back in my home, sloped & nicely snoozed too. The room the same as it had been like, before this freight-venture. I turned to Dad & my Mom, "Yo, you guys just sloop too?" But noones sitting there, just a mutilated man in a hat & stripped sweater.</div>

<div>Mum was ill & in a cabin away from her husband & us: a live-in nurse, sister & I. That day is a jumble of fuzz…But it ended with a cabin fire that was running amuck…Became a daughter with no mother. The emotional struggle was tough…& trying to kill myself had me institutionalized for a couple of months…Now I’m discharged; being in this bubble was done…But I was taunted by a girl patient who was befuddled as fuck…swore I’d come back to this institution. I just chuckled because I knew my leaving was something she coveted much…My long-awaited reunion with my sister had come to a hush when it was revealed that Dad & Mom’s nurse were snug & in love…In the dead of night, I wouldn’t sleep. I’d be up in the bunk…dealing with nightmares of apparitions of my mother in blood…repeatedly mentioning her nurse. I was puzzled & such…Who set the fire? We assumed the nurse is judged as the one…Later, I ran into my ex who wasn’t muddled with drugs…Said he witnessed that dreadful night and there was much to discuss…I went into town in search for this son of a gun…meanwhile, sister entered the nurse’s room; went through a bunch of her stuff…in hopes of finding proof she couldn’t rebuttal or chuck// Met with the ex & set a location to sit & converse…but when I showed up to the spot, he didn’t emerge…I then had ghastly visions where his image occurred…& the next day his body was found in a river; stiff & inert…that nurse was coming on to us; we need to be slick & alert…so we thought to ask the web and give her a search…& came across a villainess first - Mildred Kemp, who was a nanny that killed the kids in her work…Just to snatch the widowed father. We were convinced this is her…But then the nurse walked in & caught Sis in her purse…we tried to react quick & disperse… but she caught sister and sedated her while I split to the curb…made way to the police station and I snitched with a smirk…The police didn’t buy it and called the nurse so I could get picked & returned… She then sedated me as well as I tried to resist with a squirm…Before I passed out, in the doorway, I saw my sister with nerve…& in her hand was a knife. Thereafter, my vision was blurred… *passed out*...I wake up to see sister with blood on the side of her face…she killed the nurse and tossed out her body outside of the place… Father came home and I gathered my composure to try and explain…How that nurse tried to kill us and sister provided escape… But then how father responded made me kind of afraid… when he confusedly said my sister had also died in the flame… I look down and in my hand was the knife that had slain… Now finally that fateful day was purified of the haze:...I had caught father screwing the nurse; I was enraged... & attempted to burn them down but made a mindless mistake that burnt the cabin down. Mom and sister's life was ablaze...Became a schizophrenic with DID & my mind would create illusions of my sister right from the brain...I recalled killing my ex who said that I was to blame... and slicing the nurse's windpipe with a blade...I returned to the institution, welcomed back by that girl who's kind of insane... with a nameplate: "Mildred Kemp"... a recognizable name. <em>[The Uninvited]</em></div>

Congrats to you both for making it to the final. These were both enjoyable reads. Both had good use of rhyming and visuals.. one went with an anthology while the other went with a single story. Both had twists at the end that I enjoyed. One verse just left more of an impression with me so I've got my winner here. Best of luck for the remaining votes. Fair's in.

Enfinite <AC's>	Very very solid read from both. SALT, your approach was cool. I liked the amalgamation of horror movies, I feel like you did it well with twisting it into a nightmare approach. Though I think I wanted a little more resolution towards the end, it was overall solid.Row, you came clean and smooth as usual, and I liked your original idea approach to it.
