Entertaining reads here from both. Best of luck to whoever the new champ is. I'm leaning towards Esso in this one.

First of all, THIS WAS SUPER CLOSE! Like this || or '' close, anyways, on to the Breakdown:

EtH: Good solid verse here, hilarious personals here, that Pugz line was unexpected and funny as hell. Opener was FIRE too. Felt like you're closer could've been better but only because you're prediction was off, still not a bad line though. Overall felt like this was the best verse I've seen from you, props man, you've come a long way from me "tutoring" you lol Felt like you hit hard with your unpredicatble approach.

Esso: Good opener here, always a fan of Marvel bars. As far as the racist "personals" I don't agree so I can't say they hit hard but technically the rhyming in the lines were great. Didn't know who Cactus Jack or Noob Saibot were but once I looked them up those were FIRE bars. Finisher was funny too. Overall strong verse here, personals aside, this was rhyming 101.

Overall: Again, this was super close, hard to decide on a winner but I'm going with who had a more cohesive verse here from start to finish. DOPE battle here, props to both.

Absolutely dug a lot of Esso's lines, especially the Cactus Jack one. Truth is tho there were strong line all over the place in both verses, so I had to pick the winner based on who I felt had more consistently clean rhymes, and on that count I gotta edge it to EtH. Great shit from both you guys. Extra dope battle.

This was very close to judge.

Eth came out the gate swinging and connecting with sum humorous punches but after the Killer for Hire bar it went downhill a little., also a lil choppy compared to Esso but The whole verse was entertaining & that's all that really matters

Esso came out swinging hard with sum good personals that cut deeper than Eths personals and I felt U was consistent from start to finish. Closer was dope

I liked Eths verse more as far as enjoyment but if we breaking cats' down then Esso took this win

I'll attempt to be as brief/fair as possible while still breaking down each verse.

EtH had some really dope personals in his verse, something that he's always been well known for when it comes to how he battles. His opponent had some pretty gnarly personals as wel but I have to edge it towards EtH here under this category. His opener was very clever and nicely setup. The Subreal's audio verses fine was pretty funny even though I don't feel like he actually has a lisp, still comical. His verse continues with the clever twists of bars in his AVERTISEMENT punchline which was clean, personal and unpredictable which I personally fucked with. I'm not 100% sure if Skizzo actually ghostwrote for Esso or not but either way it was still pretty funny. The next bar (and yes, I'm mentioning multi's because this time I felt they really stood out) has some really nice multi-syllable incoporation. I enjoyed how it was set up using strictly multi's and still led up to a really nice overall punch. That leavin' um... fuck bar was funny as hell and really creative IMO. Really didn't see that one coming and the punch it lead up to I felt hit really hard both in terms of being personal as well as the punchline hitting hard period. The Skizzo's embroidery line I felt was the weakest part of his entire verse as it just didn't really land that great for me but it wasn't bad. Upon explanation I now fully understand EtH's closing bar, although that being said I felt it was a lot weaker compared to his opener even though it was still funny. But I feel like this particular one including the punchline before that could've used some additional work.

Esso's opener had a super creative setup by incorporating a really nice reference to it. The expo provided explained it perfectly and I felt that the punchline hit perfectly although unlike his opponent's opener, I truly needed that expo just so I could've understood the reference to begin with but regardless was still fire. That vasectomy punchline was honestly really funny and cleverly thought out. I like how he continued to scheme things from there on and carried out the concept until it formed an even harder-hitting punch with the Cactus Jack Tendencies line which I felt landed very heavily. The following line with the pratice bad chemistry line, even though it made sense, just felt like one of his weaker punches here IMO. From there he executed another punchline which I felt connected better than the last one but at the cost of using a cheesy concept. I've played plenty of M.K. before so I totally understood the reference without an expo needed but I just personally wasn't fucking with it let alone it even came off as a bit racist to me which I deem to be unnecessary even though racism is commonly used in battle rap. At that point forward he continued using racist angles but I did find that White Washed Over Race line to be rather funny as it had a nice twist to it. His closing bar though was pretty funny and I felt it landed pretty nicely.

I'm edging this one to who I felt was more personal with it without better concepts as well as funnier angles and his punchlines I believe just hit his opponent heavier as well. Very nice spar you guys; truly see it going either way...

Good shit fellas, I saw the names and immediately knew this would be dope. I went with what was more seemless, to many quotables from both sides. Congratulations for advancement and good luck to the new champion!

Eth: I gotta say man your bars are pretty on point in this. The pugs bit was dope and admittedly pretty funny. DaDDiO shit. Killers bit was cool, got a smile out of me. Now your 2 closers with the jersey and prediction is iffy. Nothing wrong with the first, just boring. The last one is risky cause not only is it not a punchline but if he doesn't use either of those you look dumb. Lol other than that solid shit.

ess: you started strong asf imo. You closer were meh but the rest ranged from great to solid. One of those situations where the punches were aight but the scheme work elevated them. On rereads I really appreciate the narrative you made .

overall tho Eth got a few chuckles out of me I felt it wasn't enough to win here. Esso just had a more well crafted drop in terms of concepts and impact. Fairs in, great final guys

Holy shit this is close. Both went for a very funny and personal approach which I really enjoyed, and honestly either would be a deserving winner. In the end I think my winner was just slightly more memorable with his highlights, and picked topics that resonated with me more. My favourite bars were the Subreal and Pugz ones from EtH and the Hawkeye and EtHnic cleansing ones from Esso. Dimes all round for a great final.

Esso's intro was set up real good and tops eth's intro. Both had great personal attacks, skizzo embroidery line stood out, white washed line by esso was fire too. Felt like esso took a risk by appealing to the people's value and imo was a well crafted verse with hard punches, a little preachy though. Eth warmed up then started with comedic punches, his closer was unecessary though.

KILLLERS

Posted on: 2020-05-14 08:54:35 Private Message DeadTRI

Honestly, I expected this to be a close victory for Esso but I have to go with Etho here, just barely. On the one hand the prediction at the end failed and it's a real shame you didn't use that the last time you battled him lmfao. However the rest of the verse was solid personal stuff and had me laughing all the way through with Subreal's audio verses and Skizzo embroidery being some of the highlights. From Esso, I really liked the schemework here; it all flowed pleasantly. The had a vasectomy concept was solid and it tied into the whole angle about Eth being racist, and I liked the sassafras line too, but some of your bars were totally lackluster. Noob Saibot's pokerface was just a ridiculous reach imo and the closer also was conceptually forced in that it referred to an extremely specific situation that I'd never expect to arise in real life. Also wasn't particularly feeling the cactus jack line or white washed over race. Close battle here but I have to give it to EtH for the more entertaining read even though he told me not to lmfaooooo. Fair's in.
